"Vampire Savior a mainline game in Evo2026!" , posted Wed 10 Dec 16:23 Among other surprise tournaments! That's it. Also there was a obvious silhouette of Lei-Lei Statue suspiciously about 3d model size for modern fighters. Is the Dark Lord Jedah coming back to save the reality? Who knows!

Vampire Savior picking up the retro slot puts a smile on my face. Even though I won't be attending Evo, my fingers are itchy wishing I could test my luck with the imprinted memories I have of playing Bishamon. I may not remember the names of people I interacted with decades ago, but I still remember plenty about Vampire Savior.
A few other observations:
No NRS games is a surprise, although not a wholly unexpected one. With MK1 sinking like a stone and there not being much of a community for the older games, I guess NRS is benched until they publish DC K.O. or whatever they are currently working on.
Tokon not releasing before the tournament is also interesting. Are they aiming for release at the end of 2026? This game might have been announced a bit too early.
Hokuto no Ken making it into Evo Japan is delightful. The five or six weirdos in Japan who play that game will finally have their moment to shine!

Double dose of Savior in May and then in August? 2026 is already better than 2025. And true, Tôkon not here is probably a good indicator on the release date. Better that they take their time.
I saw someone saying that the last masters of hokutoshinken have kept on studying their basketball simulator, and there might be some surprises tier-wise. I can't wait!

They might as well have it coincide with the release of Avengers DD, especially since the game needs a drastic overhaul after the wave of negative beta impressions.
Savior getting its due this year is nice, but is there a reason why they don't just have Third Strike be a mainstay?
