Welcome to "King of Fighters 2019 Cafe Special"! The tournament will start in 2 weeks plus. The eerie bears Monokuma, Shadow Ted and Warumonzaemon are back to defend the title! Will they be able to or will there be a new trio?!
For those new to the revived tradition, like in years past, teams will be of 3 characters, and bonds are important. Unlike in years past, teams must consist of 2 game characters and 1 anime/manga/light novel/commercial character or vice versa. You can't have the usual "Ikari"/Brazil team of Heidern, Ralf and Clark, but you can have Ralf, Clark and "Read or's" Drake as your military team. No god characters are allowed. So, no Goku, Mahoro and the like.
After deciding your team, pick a slot number between 3 and 8, or rather 5 and 8 because Justice Kyo wants slot 3, and I want slot 4. That number will be your tournament position. If you want to stay away from the champs in round 1, pick any number other than 8. Otherwise, pick 8 if you want to take them on.
Rule changes for this year?
1. There'll be a 3rd Place bout.
So, vote there in addition to the title bout.
2. Set bond penalty of 1 vote hole  Potential bond penalty of 2 vote hole.
That's right. I never had to deal with such a scenario, but the change makes logical sense. You can get away with picking the top tier characters on both sides of the spectrum in the most recent "KoF" reality games and the other cross over games. Guess what. Doing that here will actually burn you. So, be careful on who you choose for your trio. I'm not going be giving head starts of 2 votes though.
Have questions? Ask away. Oh, if the slots are full, and you want in, you can have my slot. Just remember that you can't have Mai, Yuri or Fuu on your team.

The French Blades - Oscar (The Rose of Versailles), André (The Rose of Versailles) and Lucia (Devil May Cry 2)
Now, some of you may wonder why Lucia instead of someone who fits with Oscar and André, such as SS's Charlotte or World Heroes's Jeanne. There are two reasons, the first being that I kinda miss Lucia (I know DMC2 is considered as a black sheep in the DMC series, but it wasn't her fault), so if Capcom doesn't want to remember she exists, I do.
Plus, she allows to have a team with a blonde, a brunette (...I mean, a brun) and a redhead. Kinda cool, huh?
(that said, it will be ironic if the tournament ends up having enough teams registered and Lucia gets cast aside... again)
Maybe I'm this person right in front of you... nah probably not though.

A few days have passed, and yet, people are stumped on making a team that can go far. If this continues, your second team should be in. I do know that they will not get slot 8. There's a set team I already have in mind that'll take the slot should I need to fill in teams (even though I have the potential to be disgusted afterward). Whether it'll be 5, 6 or 7 will depend on who gets what slot. Also, don't forget. Having them take Mai's, Yuri's and Fuu's slot is okay.
What's eating me up right now is if I should place in Neo Ryu's team or not. If he were still alive, he'd want the spot that gives him the best chance to win it all. The problem is that outside of the runner-ups, the current teams all have happy bonds as opposed to a neutral one. As if that's not enough, a team with King is a team you don't take lightly. Even if he gets out of the first round, the rounds get harder and harder.
