Who's going to Tougeki this weekend? Not me! Though I wish I were, since this should be a righteous good tournament. Shoryuken has it in English, too.

Who's going to watch Tougeki this weekend? Maybe me? I am baffled by the idea that NicoNico could ever make money on anything, including by offering a live stream of Tougeki for a fee, but maybe I just haven't been paying attention.

(Hmm did this already appear in a randomthread? I don't care, down with randomthreads!)

Like the lame-o I am I'll be waiting for highlight videos days or weeks after the fact. However, I do want to take this opportunity to publicly state that Super Battle Opera is right up there with Wonderswan as my favorite bit of Japanese naming.

O~! Fair Wonderswan. A name so fantastic that I wish the system had become the institution that the Game Boy did, where no one even remembered how absurd the name was because the real words inherent in the system name were no longer notice, because it was A Game Boy.

I suppose an under replied topic could be easily been used for recycling.

BBCS

3rd strike

I remember seeing the final for tekken 6 BR... And surprisingly one of the final teams had a Panda player .... Unfortunately the opposing team proved to be too strong and was a one sided final. The semi finals might prove to be more interesting, having that Panda player beating people up.

edit : I suppose the SSFIV finals should be inside here somewhere

If you follow SBO 3S (which you should, because it is almost always one of the best tournaments), you might know that:

KO, in spite of making it at least as far as the semi finals virtually every year he competes (since like SBO 1!), has never managed to win it. There has never been a player that has so consistently managed to make it to the highest stages of the competition SBO after SBO, and yet he has never won.

Kuroda, famous for his Q, entered with Ken this year. He defeated KO's team singlehandedly. Kuroda's team would go on to win the tournament.

----------

RF is the single most famous Faust player among all the GG players. His team contained Ogawa, the single most famous Eddie player throughout the lifetime of GG, and Shounen, one of the very best Testament players. They would win the tournament.

Interestingly, in spite of Faust being one of the more mediocre characters in GGAC, more Fausts were in the tournament than any other character!

-----------------

In ST, one team that qualified had TWO T.HAWKS, one using the O/Super version, and one using the ST version. Sadly, this team was eliminated by the American contingent.

-----------------

Even now, I have yet to hear about the results of the SBX tournament.

The problem was that I had no information or hard data to discuss. That's fine when you're talking about politics but not for something as serious as fighting games.

This video gives me hope for the really crummy Dictator I've been playing lately.

During the KoF13 tourney, it was pretty amusing hearing gasps of shock and horror from the crowd whenever Raiden did a dropkick. Announcers were speechless when it was first used I heard.

Fact: Everything with Norio Wakamoto and/or JAM Project is awesome.

Stream rip version of GGAC Grand Finals

Video quality is better, but the crowd noise is not quite as great. The guy also has some of the other matches from this year's GGAC, too.

Digging out the vids has certainly been more fun for me than the tournament itself.

semi 1 -> event intro

semi 1 -> faito <- is "that" Kuroda fight.

semi 2 -> I haven't found it.

final <- I don't know if it is the same one that I posted earlier, too lazy to check.

..... Could someone enlighten me on why isn't anyone whoring Urien? I don't remember seeing him at all not only in the finals, but also on the qualifying rounds.... Did they put a ban on Aegis reflector bugs or something?

Oh, and I just remembered that KO's team got themselves a straight victory loss on the last tournament as well... I bet that it's an obscene voodoo dance teleport curse

Oh, and Tekken final

Multiple teams with Urien did qualify!
RX, who is singularly one of the best Urien players to ever play the game, was on one of those teams.

What happened is that all those teams got eliminated in the tournament.
