Hi everyone. Sorry I heard some guys had questions about a trip to Paris but the end of the year was very tough workwise so I could not find the time to visit MMC. Stabo, how was that ELECKTRRRO concert in Makuhari, back in October? I am really sorry I could not join despite your kind offer; I had real big money issues and that evening was my only chance to get the money necessary to finish the trip alive.

So, there is a reason I come back to post.
Is anyone else having fun on Ugoku MemoChτ, better known as Ugomemo?

It's the new software you can download for DSi, which allows doing random animations with doodles and pictures from the cameras. The service began on the 24th but you can already see quite a lot of works on the dedicated Hatena page:
http://ugomemo.hatena.ne.jp/

Here is my first attempt:
http://ugomemo.hatena.ne.jp/0FC3D0B04CDF459A@DSi/movie/DF459A_08703E66C1A60_008
200 frames, no sound, just a few random animation tests with a koala (addition requested by my little cousin). I hadn't drawn anything in a few years so I am still a bit rusty. I am also interested if some of the 2ch lurkers (Zepy, Iggy) find some nice ones discussed there.

Happy holidays, by the way.

I have the ugoku memo too! In fact I am using the dsi browser to type this right now. Much better interface than the psp browser for typing!

Ugokumemo is pretty damn sweet. Unfortunately half of the animations are people trying to get stars by saying things like 'star me if you think ugokumemo is fun!', and many other people are like 'don't make stupid animations like that,' etc. However the content that IS there is pretty incredible, I heard 8500+ pictures since it was released!

1585 are accessible on the DSi (as I type this message), but I think the DSi Ugomemo Theater only display animations that got at least a few stars from the Hatena website.

[edit] Ah that's because I had the osusume box checked. There are actually over 22.000 animations uploaded already.

I have this and it's awesome.
Also, with the 1000 free points I got DECODE and Utsusu Made in Wario.

DECODE is fucking GODLY. Addictive as hell.

Utsusu is pretty damn awesome if you can get it to work properly.

Second attempt, with different animation techniques. Can you guess which famous anime was absolutely ripped off at some point?

Ktallguy, what's your Ugomemo account?

This guy (girl?) is pretty good:

Especially the Alice in Wonderland ongoing project.

The Ninki 50 became Ninki 200, which is a bit more comfortable.

Nice animations mang!

Did you go to school for art or animation at all?

Nice nuclear/psychic explosion ala Akira!

Also the way the lazer shoots out is vaaaguely like the God Warrior from Nausicaa.

And that shot of the wheel peeling out is reminiscent of a shot from Ghibli's On Your Mark music video.

Yes! Bingo. I rotoscoped that bit from the On Your Mark video. Trickier to do than I thought.
