Latest videos of SFHD in action. Sagat buffs up, Chun Li continues to squat in her idle animation and Guile now bellows with his CPS1 voice.

Ditto, although it would kick all kinds of ass if this was included as a bonus with SFIV's home release.

It's too bad but the best that SFHD can seem to aim for nowadays is to be a weird curiosity. Re-doing the sprites and moves seemed like a good idea at the time but all we are getting is graphics that either highlight old problems or create new ones and pointless noodling such as making Chun-Li's SBK arc through the air. Everybody who worked on the game appears to have had the best of intentions but enthusiasm doesn't always translate into success.

The gameplay changes for it are the only things I really care about. The graphics, at least in the beta, aren't bad (aside from the jittering in one or two animations, which I expect them to fix) and the 16:9 option is nice since it'll fill my screen and I won't be distracted by bars on the sides. I'll likely leave it on classic graphics the entire time.

Here's an average quote from the comments section:

"This looks AMAZING... God this reminds me so much of Street Fighter and Street Fighter 2 Turbo! and now it looks so much better too.
To Capcom and the whole team! Please do not add any of those ridiculous new SF characters to this game. Please stick with the original ones and nothing beyond Street Fighter 2 Turbo characters! "

It occurs to me that in the time since SFHD remix was first announced Capcom has unveiled, developed and shipped SFIV already.

Udon announces that they are going to stop pretending that they are going to publish SF3 comics and are now going to pretend that they are going to publish SF4 comics instead. I'm sure the folks at Udon are lovely people but they have bitten off far more than they can chew with this Capcom deal.

Well, according to Udon, they are still going to publish SF3 comics; the project was just delayed while the SF4 comics are prepared and published. It seems some Udon SF2 Turbo comics will feature SF3 backstories, as well.

The computer I am using doesn't have audio boxes, so I just can see the soundless video. But it looks very nice! So, is SSFII Turbo HR Remix getting a special opening video? That looks good!

But... are these matches meant to be considered for real in the SF canon or are they just illustrating how the game works? It's not consistent to their comics, because Cammy fought T.Hawk in them, not Ryu.

I guess it's just eye-candy, though. Oh well, anyway, the trailer ends with a "to be continued"... do you guys think Udon/Capcom will make a next trailer giving continuation to this one? That would be nice!

Ahhhhh that makes sense. I always thought he was the best dude at Udon.

The colors in that illustration are fantastic.

Is he still an Udon regular? I know a few years ago he made his Journey to the East, worked for a Korean company and just jumped by leaps and bounds in his art (especially with his coloring).

That video was amazing. It took undiscerning nostalgia and Eastern and Western cliches and wadded them up into one big ball of fist pumping lunacy. Too think, it was just the other day that I was complaining about Udon over-extending itself. But if they are going to continue to put out things like this more power to them.

I still think he is one of the best artist and I also thought he left Udon too. But my speculation is that he is really good friends with Eric Ko and he has a soft spot for Capcom. So combine the two and you get covers by Arnold Tsang.

It doesn't look that ugly to me in movement, but I've never had a good eye for these things.

Still looks bland and plain, though.

One thing I did like was Guile's Sonic Boom having that mirage-like deformation effect on the bg. That was neat.

Yup. The only weird part was Gouki not using the Shun Goku Satsu on M.Bison in the end of the video...

Do you think Udon will release a fourth video showing Ryu vs. Gouki (and M.Bison being SGS'ed), or now that the game is released the promotion is over?

Dammit, this is out and it is the buzz around the watercooler in my office.

I do not know if I want to get this for my XBox 360 or PS3.

I want to get this for the 360 because of a) gives me a reason to play the ruddy thing and b) I have an arcade joystick for the 360.

I need to get an arcade joystick for the PS3 soon. But this is the only reason why I do not want to get this game for the PS3. I have rabies when I play a 2D fighting game with a regular console controller.

Yes, Get it for the PS3.
It turned out to be better than what I was expecting. When I saw those BIG srpites on my BIG TV I couldn't avoid feeling good. The games looks good, plays good, feels plain good.
However, I can't beat Akuma! It's insane... The team behind it did a good job. It's a good excuse to bring back this game.

This is for the 360 version. My router doesn't like the ps3, and I'm too stupid to configure it properly.

I like how you can't see your opponent's selection and vice versa until the match starts.

The netcode is nice. Played with people from Canada and Mexico and there was 0 lag. This includes the player matches where there are spectators. Other games tend to lag a lot when they have this feature.

Someone finally had the brains to count disconnects as losses. On the past online capcom fighters they would either give both opponents a loss when someone disconnected, or not penalize anyone.

Most of the new music is pretty bad or doesn't feel like it belongs in the game. I know people from ocremix and new grounds have made better stuff than this.

The sound tends to glitch a lot. Sometimes there will be no background music or the characters wont have any voice. I know other people had this problem constantly, who knows how it went past the QA team.

Weird graphic glitches in some online matches. My character was called Sagat no matter who I chose. Life bars would start red instead of yellow.

Despite the bad stuff this is a nice sugar coated rom hack.

How big is this game?

I am in Bahrain and my internet speed is atrocious. I think I have a 128kbps line. While I should not complain since it is free. At this moment, I am having an update installed on the PS3 (I think it was 25Mb) and it has been over two hours and it is at 20%. I guess I will not be playing this online anytime soon.

303MB, but even on my 12Mbps line it takes a long time for the PS3 updates to download.

Also, I've not encountered any glitches so far in the game (PS3), yet I found a ton in the 360 beta, so I almost have to wonder if somehow the PS3 version is less glitchy regardless.

It's worth mentioning that when I use the new sprites I set the game to 16:9 and it feels right, yet when I set it to the old sprites 16:9 makes them seem way bigger than necessary and throws me off. Has anyone else felt this way?

Yeah, 360.
I'm thinking about buying it for PS3 as well, but I haven't found the PSN Cards here in Mexico.

Several of us in the PSN thread have it. I only didn't get it for 360 because I didn't want to also spend the money to renew my gold account.

I'm an idiot for not thinking of that. Of course, I don't actually own the game or a PS3, but I plan to buy it soon and play it on a friends' PS3.

I heard that you can play SFHD online during December without having a gold account.

Do you need to be a paid X-Box Live member in order to buy the game? I was hoping just to buy the Xbox Points card and buy the game and not sign up for XBL. Not a fan of XBL.

Any Xbox Live Arcade title can be bought and played without having an XBL Gold subscription.
You won't be able to do online multiplayer without a Gold membership, though.

Yeah, I'd like to take everyone on, too! If only my newest console weren't...a DS?! I don't care about online games usually, but a relatively lagless fighter would be a lot of fun. After collectively spawning a thread that got someone tossed outta the cafe over upscaled Street Fighter graphics, I figure Rugal-Red Falcon and I had better get a Street Fighter match going one of these days. One of these days that I get a PS3, I mean. 2011?

I don't know what that means, but between that pic and having JUST found out that there's actually a "Guys Gone Wild" (from the makers of Girls Gone Wild no less), I think I'm turning gay.

Sounds interesting... Come to think of it, could the D in your nickname stand for a certain part of your body?

Oh, THAT thread. I honestly didn't even notice that Recap was gone.

The only thing that I really got out of that thread was the urge to purchase those Udon fighting pads. The one I got really turned out to suck. Bad.

Thank you so much. I was looking at that thread and thinking "Why did I bother posting this crap? Why don't I think before posting something unnecessary?"

But knowing that...in all that mess...I actually posted something remotely useful made me feel a lot better.

Now I really wanna play some SFZ3...

I learned about scanlines.

But I also finally got around to hunting down those Udon pads, which are GLORIOUS. Compared to the PS2 ones we'd been using for hundres of hours, anyway. I got two, even, and the art's kind of fun I guess. Now I can perform 360's while also seeing Chun Li's underwear at the same time.

Mine stopped working properly after just a few months. Also, I don't know if I was just getting used to the default PS2 pads, but I was having problems with so many inputs...especially 360s. I went in expecting something at least close to a Saturn pad, but it turned out being worse than the PS2 pad.

I think I didn't even notice that thread. I don't know if it's SFZero, the technical blurb or the drama that kept me away from it.
