Just a thread for pure fun. Haven't seen one of these kinds of threads here in a while...unless you count the "Say something about the above poster" threads. Anyway, here goes:
As far as fighting games (all fighting games 2d, 3d, 2.5d, 4d, I don't care) who is your favorite:
Chinese character?
Black character?
Character over 60 yrs old (or at least appears to be over 60 yrs old)?

For me:
Chinese: Hsien-ko.
Black: Two-way tie: Dudley and Dee Jay.
Over 60: Hei-friggin'-hachi.
Grappler: I love grapplers, so there are a lot of faves, but I think I'll have to go with the Alpha Male of the grapplers: Zangief.
Boxer: Dudley. Steve Fox and Rick Strowd get an honorable mention.
Muay Thai: Sagat. Definitely.
TaeKwonDo: Gonna have to go with Kim Kaphwan.
Not originally a fighting game character: Guy.
Rivalry: The Mishimas. It's gotten to the point of ridiculousness, yet I can't get enough.

- The original one: Ryu and Ken. I like healthy, friendly rivalries.

Chinese character? Feng Wei. Though one might say he follows the same archetype as Gato who came first, but I'd still go with Feng if only for his pimp suit and crazy eyebrows.
Black character? Balrog. Seriously. I don't care what people say about his design being offensive or whatever, I think he's awesome. Give him a beard+mohawk and he's Clubber Lang.
Character over 60 yrs old (or at least appears to be over 60 yrs old)? That'd have to be Chin Gentsai, no contest.
Grappler? GRIFFON. EXCLAMATION POINT. That's an easy one. As for why, well it's hard to pick just one reason. His buffed-out Gatchaman look, his awesome voice, BEEEG FALLL and just the way his design comes together overall. Plus unlike so many other lucha designs I don't think his mask is a ripoff of any real life luchadores.
Boxer? Vanessa. Unlike that retard joke of a female boxer Tiffany, Vanessa brings sexy back to boxing and her movements are cool and professional.
Muay Thai user? Sagat I guess. Muay Thai really isn't my favorite style though.
Tae Kwon Do user? Baek Do San. I don't know why. It must be the fedora/beard combo. Yeah, definitely that.
Character who was not originally a fighting game character (i.e. Athena, Hugo, Guy, etc.)? Ralf Jones. I loved the fact that he still looks like a Rambo ripoff even though his style changed from the Ikari days.
And finally, what is your favorite fighting game rivalry? Hard to say, but probably Nina Williams/ Anna Williams. To this day I'm still not clear about why they're so competitive (even an entire gaiden title didn't explain much about it), but I never get tired of watching them tease each other for some reason. In the end I guess I just prefer a good catfight.

Ninja character? Guy. Gotta love ninjas that wear sneakers.
Weapon-using character? Raphael. Actually, let me rephrase... pre-SC3 Raphael. No vampire elves, thanks.
Bearded character? Uh, Jeffry McWild. If only for the fact he has a winpose in VF3 where he poses and screams "That's.... MARINERRRR POWERRRRR"

Seems like competition here is slim... so I'll go with Rog for being original and terrifyingly overpowering, even though Dudley is cooler and Vanessa cooler still. Steve Fox is also awesome, and if he could headbutt 40% of your life then I'd pick him over Vanessa and Rog.

I'm torn between Taki-sama and Hattori Hanzou. I couldn't decide. Maybe I'll go with Taki, cuz I love skanky kunoichis with a passion... and I'm already kind of sick of having to thread on the former grounds of Hattori's residence on my way to work everyday.

Hmmm... leaving characters from comic franchises (Marvel, JoJo, etc) aside, I'd dare to pick Mars People from SNKvsC because back then, I considered its addition to the game's roster as a very shocking but refreshing surprise, even greater than Athena , Zero and Red Arremer.

As sad as it would seem, the "Yes Ryu!! - No Ken!!" formula in all its SF related variants (Ryu - Sagat, Ryu-Akuma, Ryu - Alex...) still attracts me. Oh, and don't forget a Madman's classic: Donovan vs Anakaris !!!

Strider Hiryu, not even a bastard child from Ibuki and Chipp would be able to achieve such level of coolness...
Weapon-using character?
Well, that's a tricky one. This one should go for Strider as well, but I think Hayato Kanzaki (Plasma Sword) deserves a bit of love as well. Plus he is more effective than Hiryu in MvsC 2 IMO...

Either Rasputin or our lovely Zangi! How could I choose between those two magnificent flying bearded, gay russians? I want them both!! At once!!!!

Jin Chonrei, easily - I really do wish they'd bring his older Kim-and-Tung-trained self to a Garou sequel... hell, a Chonrei-like Kim skin for him in KoF MI3 would do =P

Heavy D!, no contest here.
Honorable mention goes to Seth for deviating so much from the usual stereotypes (not even a boxer, for starters, and a vegetarian to boot), even if I don't care much for him.

Tung Fu Rue wins here - too bad they never brought back his fully-transformable self from FF1 though, but he still kicks ass.
Honorable mention os to Toji Sakata, who doesn't get half the attention he deserves.

Not my typical character type, since I usually suck at performing the motions... perhaps Vice, and I've enjoyed using Tina and Potemkin.

Vanessa rules this with an iron fist and a golden beer mug.

Joe's my fave to use (tall hair from the KoF games always looked silly to me though), Sagat's SFA artwork looks the coolest, and King just had to get a mention somewhere in this post.

This one seems made for Kim, an classic fave, but May Lee's over-the-top <whatever> Frog DM from 2002 deserves an honorable mention.

Probably Ralf - and Poison gets a mention for having been considered for CFAS.

Ryo and Geese - not openly declared, but at least to me the implicit story of the SouthTown saga is all about how Ryo and Geese age and develop in that city.

I usually don't focus on these, but I have a soft stop for Galford.
Weapon-using character?
Yamazaki, whenever he bothers to have his hand out of his pocket.
Might as well mention Toji Sakata again, for his far more casual and cool way to use a fan than Mai could ever handle.
Bearded character?
Ryo + beard = awesome
I can at least hope that's what SNKP has up their sleeve for Ryo in KoF XII, considering MI2...
Saishyu is also pretty dam cool.

Not surprised that Meez Vanezzer is doing so well in the boxing category. When a similar thread was made yeas ago, she was the most popular boxer then, too. For the same reasons, too. Personally, I think her movements and the whole beer drinking thing are too manly for me to consider her sexy. She's also unusually skinngy, even for videogame standards.
I am surprised that Sagat's doing so well in the Muay Thai category. I remember a time when he was hated on for not being "real Muay Thai".
For the three categories added after I started the thread:
Ninja: This is really difficult, because ninjas typically rule based on the simple fact that they're ninjas, but I'll Guy the nod here.
Weapon using character: Also really difficult, seeing as there are whole fighting games based on weapons. Uh...nobody picked The Mighty Voldo for anything in this thread so far, so I'll go with him.
Bearded character: Uh...Gen is the first to come to mind, although there are too many honorable mentions to even...uh...mention.

Elena and Vanessa are pretty arousing IMO, but you know, it's quite difficult to choose just one ,specially if you are a devoted vs gamer. I still remember Sakura's shocking red pantsu shots from SFA2, though...

As much as I hate to admit it, Balrog/Vega is the best representative of our country's culture up to date: it's the same "Spanish flamenquito torero y olé" shit as always, but with an attitude...
Best character's winning quote.
I can't decide which is more awesome : Captain Commando's "Capcom's first game was Vulgus, made in 1984!" or Shin Gouki's cryptic "...". Special mention to Abubo's "uuuhh!!... A-Abubo lost!!" in "Rage of the Dragons"
And what about expanding the list with a bunch of new questions? For instance:
Favorite weirdo : In this category, I include any fighting character that seems either apart from its own game's ambience or radically different from any other character's aesthetics. Selections based on games such as "Darkstalkers", "Plasma Sword", "Waku Waku 7" or "JoJo" should be avoided (althoug this isn't an imposition, feel free to answer what you want), as their complete roster is filled with non-conventional characters on purpose. Some fine examples of what I refer to are Norimaro from "MSHvsSF", Twelve or Necro from "SFIII" or Voldo from "Soul" series.
Mine is, without the shadow of a doubt, Faust, from "GG" series. He somehow manages to look even weirder than the rest of the roster, and it isn't what I'd call a standard one...
Favourite affeminate character: Ranging from the slightly feminine or ambiguous characters (like Uda from "Hokuto no Ken" or his Capcom's rip-off Gill) to the blatantly homosexual folks ala Rasputin or even Bridget-like traps, tell us about your fav fag!!!
Mine is Pielle, from "Breakers" series. He's fun to play with, not as explicitly gay as many others and his voice fx are pure gold!!! Too bad his costume is so uninspired, he deserved some more love from character designers...
Favorite brute : It matters not whether it's a grappler or just a common character, just tell which is your favorite massive, pumping pile of flesh!! From the likes of Zangi and Goro Daimon to Sagat, Raoh or Blackheart, everybody counts!!
Oh, I think this is one of the most difficult questions of the quiz (hell, and the worst of it is that I was the one who formulated it!!!), because I usually like all the chars who fall into this cathegory. Well, I guess my all-time fav is Hulk, but comic franchises apart, I'd say Potemkin is the one I enjoyed playing with the most. Special mention to Marvel's Juggernaut and Sasquatch from "Darkstalkers" series
Favorite furry char: Because, you know, although it's hard to admit it, some of them are really fun to play with... Yiff Yiff!!
Felicia and Talbain/Gallon are the best I've ever seen both in terms of design and playability. But Poochie from "Power Insinct" made me enjoy great, hilarious moments as well...

There are waaaaaaay to many Americans in fighting games for me to narrow this down.

I'm paraphrasing here, but Sasquatch's "It's hot here, but that's okay. Food is all I need." How's that for a win quote? You beat the crap out of your opponent, and then feed them this bit of unnecessary info. Too cool for school.
Favorite weirdo? Going to go with Voldo again, but there are a ton of honorable mentions.
Favourite affeminate character? Ukyo, despite being a lady's man, always struck me as being effeminate, so I'm going with him.
Favorite brute? For personal purposes I'm going to bar strictly grapplers from this category. In that case, there are still many honorable mentions, but I think I'll give the nod to Astaroth.
Favorite furry char? John Talbain.
Most sexually arousing? Lots of picks here. Kyoko, Angel, Leona, Juli, Rose, Elena, Julia Chang, Ivy, Christie Monteiro, Cammy, June (Star Gladiator/Plasma Sword). All could win this, but I'll have to go with the woman who has probably given me more boners than any other videogame female: Mai Shiranui. I still remember playing KoF '96 as a 13 year old and getting huge boners just from seeing Mai's stance, her intro where she lets her dress fall down and that win pose where she show off her butt. Wow.

Goh Hinogami. He is such a different character from the rest of the VF cast with his design. despite what I heard I think that goh is a simple character(no stances, small number of kicks and punches)unlike old characters who are updated and deepened with extra stances and attacks (like kage's new stance in VF5, which add the total number of stances to 3), Vice gets a special honor
Boxer?
steve fox. I suck at tekken and the problem is a very fundemental one with the game system. Having left & right punches and kicks makes me confused. but since steve mostly focuses on punches and with kicks mostly are for manuvering i can play a lot better.

Since there are no Basque characters known, I will have to stick with Spaniards. I guess my fav would be Cervantes de Leon. Ridiculously anachronistic, starting from his given name and following with his gunblade, but totally lovable. And, according to the map, in Soul Edge his boat was anchored in Portugalete port. Honorable mention to Vega/Balrog, of course. Classic among classics.

Also, never played the game, but Uda from Hokuto no Ken gets a mention, just because he's just the most awesome character ever. But honestly pretty much half of the HnK cast is quite effeminate, when not openly homosexual...

Favorite weirdo?
- Necro, probably. I'd mention Faust, but he was my Chinese character of choice, so I pick Necro instead. Despite his long reaching moves, his gameplan centers on close range and juggles to stun the opponents, which I find fascinating. It's a pity I suck so much with him, despite all my efforts.
Favourite affeminate character?
- Ash Crimson, clearly. He's the most effeminate possible without looking clearly gay (Rasputin, I'm looking at you), and his mysterious personality and behavior makes him even more great. Oh, and since he's a ripoff of Remy, my favorite SFIII character, I love playing with him, too.
Favorite brute?
- Excluding pure grapplers, I'll pick Astaroth, yeah.
Favorite furry char?
- Felicia, no doubt. I like the stupid catwoman/pop star mix, the design is amazing, and her attacks great.

He is such a different character from the rest of the VF cast with his design. despite what I heard I think that goh is a simple character(no stances, small number of kicks and punches)unlike old characters who are updated and deepened with extra stances and attacks (like kage's new stance in VF5, which add the total number of stances to 3), Vice gets a special honor
Oh, Gogh, I forgot about him. He's the best Judo user in a videogame, that's for sure. Using him for the first time, I couldn't stop yelling "I can do that", "hey, and that", etc.
