Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how one was qualified to get those SF2 promo videos? I got one myself when I was younger and I don't recall ever sending in any product registration forms or anything else that would tell Capcom I was a Street Fighter fan.
I also remember getting weird ones from Nintendo for the N64. Like the one where SEGA and Sony kidnap Nintendo to tell them about the rumble pack and Star Fox 64.

Thanks for the links. That SF2:WW US commercial composed of stock footage remains as inexplicable today as it was when it first aired. The real surprise of the group was those FF ads. The one with the kid being escorted by Mad Gear toughs [who the hell decided to make a custom Sodom outfit just for that commercial?] while the soundtrack electronically chanted "FINAL FIGHT" was wonderful. The FF2 commercial had a tough legacy to live up to but I think it succeeded with Maki and the gang fighting their way through a music video. Grand, goofy stuff.

Clearly Capcom's ad agents were on their game with that Final Fight ad. There's really nothing that says "Final Fight" more than a 10-year-old boy stuck in a rising elevator in front of a burly masked guy named Sodom while a rhythmic chant and pulsating flashes highlight the terror in the young boy's eyes.

Fantastic! Seeing Sakura run around in Zero 2 in an arcade was originally what made me pay attention to fighting games for the first time ever, so it's good to see this. Surprised Capcom could be bothered to produce original animation for a commercial, given how much they hate drawing...anything they don't have to.
