It looks good, but still trailers like FFVIII, FFX and FFX-2 were killers, and in comparison the plot/character designs (besides Fran) look bland in my opinion.
Also... another wedding?? ...not exactly the best choice.

Understandable if so, but no, I expect it's because that's a famous scene we've already seen. It was a big CG (and promo art) in Final Fantasy X (Yuna in a wedding dress is even on the instruction book, though maybe not the US one). It might've been in IX, too, but IX is the only one I've not played for some reason, so I don't know. VI had the opera-crashing-wedding scene, too. I guess I'd be more excited to see old FF creators (they aren't there) instead of old FF scenes.

I'd have to agree. It looks good, but it doesn't draw me in like the trailer for FFX did. Frankly, it really doesn't have the FF feel to it.....

I like weddings (but of course I will try to avoid mine as much as possible), but there was a wedding scene in FFX anyway... isn't it just a bit... overlapping? ñ__n;

My point is not the fact there is a wedding, it's the fact they are openly repeating "key" elements in the plot and it feels like they have a shortage in originality.

My point is not the fact there is a wedding, it's the fact they are openly repeating "key" elements in the plot and it feels like they have a shortage in originality.

And MY point is a wedding ceremony is not a particularly unique thing. It happens a lot IRL. You may as well say the main character being blonde again means they don't have any new ideas for hair color.
And I didn't even remember there being a wedding in FFX until you brought it up. The main focus of that story was Sin eating up Spira.

Plus, I'm pretty sure that wedding takes place before the events of the game. It'll be a relevant scene, but it won't really come up in the same way similar scenes in the series have, I don't think.
