Pah, no videogame filmic adaptation is worthy of my attention if Uwe Boll is not involved in the proyect... Miike could save the day on this one, though.

Besides his cameo, Miike will "supervize" the movie, overwise known as "adding a semi-famous name that should attract enough attention although he didn't do much on the set". The director is someone else.

For some reason, I'm not surprised to hear that. I guess that if Miike was the director, he would have made Teah (City of The Lost Souls, Dead or Alive 2, 1-Ichi) the main character.

With the volume of films Miike has been known to put out I'm surprised he managed to avoid having to direct this as well.

I just hope Miike doesn't screw up the Metal Gear Solid film. He better make it Japanese, and balance the action with some campy, heavy handed political babble.

Ryu Ga Gotoku movie? I'm enjoying the game enough as it is. =) Amazing game. I can't wait till I level up enough to get the parry move. And then, I'm gonna blow another hundered thousand yen on this hostess girl.

One thing that this game does quite accurately, is it replicates the hostess experience faithfully.

You go in... everything is fine, you're having fun, and then ... oops. time to pay.

Ka'ching and all of your money is gone. =)

The worst is when the girl sucks.

CRAP! I'm really sorry. I mixed up Miike's name with Ryuhei Kitamura!! (of Versus fame. He did the work on Twin Snakes too) Really sorry for the confusion.

Here's the link to the article I referenced...

Shit, does this mean the damn film is going to have like seven-minute-long scenes with guys jumping over flying pieces of walls and clicking empty guns at each other?

Also, yeah, my favorite line of dialogue, in Ryu ga gotoku and in Shinjuku Kabukicho: The Real-Life Experience has got to be

テメェ何言ってんだオッラ?

Where the ッ indicates a violent tongue roll.

You can also replace 言ってん with やってん if you want. I like how both sentences have the same meaning, only one is directed at someone who's making noise, and the other is directed at someone who's not.

Now, that makes sense. I like Kitamura's films, but I wasn't too happy with his new action scenes for Twin Snakes. I mean, I like them, but that's not what Snake is supposed to be capable of doing, or at least, it's too extreme... but I know that's what Kitamura is about.

Anyways, if someone has to make a Metal Gear Solid based film, I'll be happy if it's him. By the way, did you know that Kojima appeared in Kitamura's Azumi film?

I did not ! I forgot Kitamura did Azumi too! Azumi is actually one of the few Japanese films I've seen recently... =)

Ya, I get the impression he was trying to be unbelievably over the top for Twin Snakes so... I think he loves MGS enough that he will hopefully be level headed about making a good movie.

I took these from the making of the film:

Kojima in Azumi
Again

I really don't know if he can be spotted through the film. I'll have that in mind the next time I watch it.

That's nice! Could you share any more details about the film? Is it worth checking out?

The film I was giggling the most, it has to be Koi no Mon. In this film, there are some minor roles for Takashi Miike, Shinya Tsukamoto, Hideaki Anno, Kiyoshiro Imawano and the guy who played the role of the twin killers in Ichi the Killer. Ryuhei Matsuda is also superb in this film.

Yes!

I hated that god damned film though. It tries to have Battle Royale's attitude, when it's really just a movie about kid ninjas. There's the part where the teacher tells the ninja girl, kill the ninja boy now! And she has this totallY ATTITUDE look on her face and he's like, "Azumi!" and she just slices him and it's like WOOOOAH. I mean, this is at a point where the audience just doesn't give a FUCK about who any of these characters are, and it's already making us loathe them.

"Once Upon a Time in Mexico" also does pretty much the same thing. I just . . . don't like when movies do that.

Kitamura's "Godzilla: Final Wars" is much, much better -- though only because it's intentionally moronic.

You know, *I* have a cameo in that one -- as a giant, sexy monster.

But in that interview Kitamura doesnエt say heエs going to make a flick about MGS... he only states there could be a possibility, if one day Kojima and Konami decide to make a filmic adaptation of Snake & Co.

So itエs only a mere interbutt rumor, we donエt know anything for sure. For heavens sake, Iエve even heard that Uwe Boll was the one going to direct that supposed MGS movie! (and Iエd find that option most interesting, I dare to admit. In such case, I would be all for The Rock to play the role of Snake and his multiple clones, since Uwe+The Rock=ultimate destruction combo).

Anyway, it would make sense if Kitamura finally directed a Metal Gear movie, being Kojimaエs buddy and all. And I even think he could do a good job. But, then again, Uwe...

I guess I'm in denial. I would never want to see Uwe touch the source material, so I'm just blocking him out.
