Why is the mobile phone division putting out more interesting stuff than SNKP proper nowadays? Is there that much money to be made from cellphone games?

they probably only have a few people making them, and are reusing graphics and such. I think there's some money, but it also could be an investment in the future...
as for why it's more interesting, they COULD play like crap. But generally I agree.

There's usually more oppertunity to make something cool on a cell phone game. Fun little throw away games can come out very cool. Especially if the artists and designers are left to make what ever the hell they want. Plus the people that are a part of these cell phone game teams are probably crazy happy to have the chance to make a 2D game again.
