I thought that I´ve already seen EVERYTHING about energetic drinks when my minion Hayato show me that can of Steven Seagal´s ginseng-cola... but I was wrong. Here comes the ultimate gimmick:

I do know some geeks who will surely change their brand of non-alcoholic drink on march. And, heck, I wonder if it would taste good mixed with gin... By the way, will the units per customer be limited to 99? Will they release a papaya flavored Phoenix Down? Only god knows...

This was bound to happen. I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. I mean, this is such a brain dead licensing idea. I had thought of something similar to this a long time ago.

My idea was to market and sell a line of cookies or bread named after the famous "Lembas" bread from Lord of the Rings. Its okay if you don't know what I'm talking about but in the LOTR novels, the elves bake a super nutritious bread called "Lembas." With all the licensing tie-ins that we had to the movies a while back, I'm surprised no one thought of this.

I am surprised we are barely getting FF drinks though. Even I, who only plays FF Tactics games, would totally at least try out the drink once. Just for novelty purposes. If done right, I am sure these drinks would sell easily.

I would totally buy a Phoenix Down energy drink. Its silly and stupid but kinda cool at the same time. And with Square Enix's fancy-cool design aesthetics- it would be easy to market.

I think this is a totally natural tie-in.
