Suberunker's stuff is REALLY good. If you liked Preocupied with 1985 you'll really like Wizard of Ozaka and Football.

I just got into Azumanga Daioh recently, and it's now on my list of favorite comedies ever (not to mention favorite Anime). What I like about Yukari is that I had an English teacher in High School, VERY much like her, appearance and personality wise.

I saw a box set of the complete Azumanga Diaoh (spelling?) at Best Buy the other day. Worth getting? I never saw the series myself.
Oh, as for the video-- I don't care too much for the song, but the video overall was well done.

i was gonna mention that but i kept closing the thread, forgetting to reply. pretty good for $25 or $35 or whatever they were selling it for, especially since i paid $70 or $80 for everything separately 8( still totally worth it. you should get it
even if you end up hating it, it'll be a nice learning experience

Azumanga Daioh is hands-down my favorite anime. I don't like anime in general, but I feel that Azumanga is one (or several, really) of the handful of DVDs (of any type) worth owning.

I saw the fansubbed version and plan on buying the whole 6 DVD set.
The 6 DVDs have special bonuses including a collectors Pin (with each DVD) and a 12 Page booklet that actually explains a lot of the translations and Japanese culture relevant to the accompanied episodes (the fan sub also does this, but from what I've heard the 12 page booklet goes into a little more detail)
The 6th DVD also includes the short movie, which I wouldn't say is VITAL but it worth a watch.
ADV recently (like a couple weeks ago) released a new 5 DVD ThinkPak of the series which has all the episodes but NO extras whatsoever, but it's cheaper then getting the Extra-filled DVDs. So your call, with somethling like Azumanga Daioh it REALLY helps to have the extra notes.
Oh and I can't comment on the dub as I haven't heard of it yet, anyone care to share their comments on that.
As for the video it doesn't beat hearing the classic He-Man theme done to AD also Subrerunker's Football is mostly Azumanga Daioh done to Strong Bad's Techno Song which is a lot cooler than it sounds.
