I just stumbled upon this.
Jabberwock
It's like Zelda and a really nice, quite difficult shooter all rolled into one. And it's free. And it's really hard. The download link is at the very bottom of the page.
I really recommend you trying this out if you like shooters. Controls aren't too difficult to understand, but be aware it's all in Japanese.
