Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst -- Official English Page
(Thanks to Persona-Sama of the IC forums for the news.)

I haven't yet experienced Episode 2, so I figure this'll be a good time to do so. That, and I enjoyed at least the off-line story-oriented quests of the first episode, with cinema scenes and all -- so I figure I oughta check out what this one has. Is there anyone else here who isn't completely burned out on PSO?

I'm not burned out... and I would love to play this game on my laptop. Hopefully it can support a PS2 pad, so I can play with an analog stick.

Play from any PC

Your character data is held on a server allowing you to play anytime from any PC that has Internet access and PSO Blue Burst installed.

TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE

I'm still wondering why they didnt do this on the console versions. They would have prevented so much cheating/bugs/shennanigans.

Still, it would be a nice game to replay.

Open Beta starts in two days, and I've just been reading through the Team System page. Prof, may we have your permission to start a team with the name and icon of the Madman's Cafe? (Or, if you're interested in playing, want to start it up?)

I CAN'T FIGHT THE ZOMBIE PUPUSAS ALONE

I got into the Japanese beta and played it for all of 15 minutes. The gameplay really hasn't aged well for me.

Yeah, I can understand that a lot of folks here might already be burned out on PSO -- pretty much the same game has come to different platforms.

I myself won't be out to build an uber-character by investing thousands of hours in a repetitive level grind. I mean, I will be playing a few rounds of the main game, but I'm pretty much gonna keep myself entertained with quests.

"Client now available for download" , posted Tue 10 May 07:33post reply

And it's about 500 MB. There's Fileplanet (though the servers have a queue) -- and there's also a thread on the official forums that has a link to a torrent. (Hasn't been taken down yet -- so I figure it must be okay with the organizers. The FTP/HTTP links don't work, though.)

Just cuz I'm a lazy bastard who has never played PSO before... What's the difference between Blue Burst and Episode I & II for Xbox? Which one should I play? Thanks!

From my understanding of it, Blue Burst is essentially the PC version of 1 & 2, but it also includes muchly improved graphics, a ton of new quests, some new items, and will be online only with a monthly fee, and all character will be stored on their servers instead of locally.

Basically they did this to stop the massive amount of duping, and to keep people from bitching when their characters get wiped from a memory card glitch.

It wont go beyond that screen. Every other game connects just fine.

Oh SEGA, you and your old sugar coated games!

Simple solution

I prefer melted greasy crayons.

EDIT 1: Maybe #14?
EDIT 2: (Huh... maybe not, you wouldn't've been able to play RO if that were true.)
EDIT 3: BWARRGH -- FAQ is suggesting a reinstall

I plan to download this game if I can finally get a cable connection where I'm at now. I'm going to try to have one put in this week. I'd love to play in the open beta.
