After the favorite bosses poll and such, time to see wich VS game characters designer will win. I've put an "other" slot, so if I've forgoten someone vote other and tell us who!

here we go!

Universe and Human stupidity...Well

I have to vote for Kinu Nishimura. (Her name's not Kinu Nishima, please fix.)She started off way back during SF2 and you couldn't tell her style from Akiman's at first, but nowadays you can tell it's her drawing just by looking at it. Her biggest claim to fame is doing all the characters designs for Cyberbots, that was all her. Sensei designed the Mechs though. She worked on SF3 but so did Shoei, Akiman and others, it's a mixed bag. And I really love the drawings of all the characters she did for CVS1 and CVS2, but Shinkiro had some good drawings in that series too.

Shout out goes out to Senri Kita, back when she was doing the CFAS designs I E-mailed her and she responded in English! More shout outs go out to Akiman, Bengus, Edayan, Shinkiro, Falcoon, Shoei, but I could only vote for one...

I just can't get enough of Edayan's crisp designs. With Justice Gakuen, he took some fairly normal school archetypes and made them just so incredibly cool...Kazama DAIGO is one of the reasons I wish for another Justice game, he's easily one of the coolest school uniformed-characters I've ever seen (enough so for me to lose my senses and cosplay (!) one time).

Akiman is my favorite artist, but it's hard for me to pick him as my favorite fighting game character designer, since most of his work in that field is rather old and ugly.

Kinu Nishimura is a close second with with huge versatility and a constantly evolving art style.
But...did Nishimura actually design any characters? This is more like an illustrator contest, isn't it?

Yes, she designed all of the Cyberbots characters, not the mechs though. Every piece of Cyberbots Artwork you have seen that wasn't 'Mecha only' was done by her.

And she also did character designs for the Anime "Overman King Gainer" if it helps.

I'm pleasantly surprised that Edayan's getting so many votes (although this *is* MMCafe, not SRK or GFaqs). I loved [most of] the JG designs, and his take on the SF characters in Revival was by and large excellent.

Didn't she do the designs for the original characters in the D&D games as well as some sort of board game-like game that I don't think ever made it out of Japan? [Ugh, the description of that second game was awful but I don't have my Capcom books in front of me at the moment so I can't give a better summary of it.]

so not only is it not normal fighters, but it's not just 'versus' fighters, like mvc, it's any fighting game that brings together more than one property? As in Marvel vs EA would be included?
