Either way, I'm not interested in CF at all.
I kicked Cold Fear to the curb in a recent review. Aside from decent technical performance and a good sense of space and environment, it's got nothing. It has those generic puppet-looking physics and, well, generic everything else.
If you described the game in very basic terms you'd end up with a nearly exact description of Resident Evil 4 (europeans with parasites living in their brains try to kill you, you shoot them from over-the-shoulder perspective, protect a girl for a brief portion, find keys, cutscenes aren't intereactive here though), only you'd have to add that it kind of sucks.
The weapons and contact in particular are ultra-chumpy. Popping a head is like squishing a not particularly juicy grape, stepping on a head lacks any impact at all.
Has very cool weather effects in the beginning though. I'd rent it if I didn't have a GameCube to play RE4 and I were the president of my high school's survival horror fan club and nobody wanted to go to the movies with me, or something.

Gyahh! I knew I would be threatened when I said "Siren sucks." I spent a while playing the game, and it just didn't hold my attention. Plus, there were so many things wrong with the game that made the game "Not Fun."
