I don't think Falcom enters into this anymore.

I'm hoping this delay will mean something good, but I'm not counting on it.

Geh, whatta drag that all these old RPG's I always wanted to play are getting updated...badly. First Phantasy Star and then Y's I&II and now III... Will I ever know Truth? Or at least what I've been missing. I realize that not everyone can put the amount of time into a remake as GameArts did with Lunar and whatnot, but...

Ys 1 and 2 Eternal are great remakes... on PC. Made by Falcom.

And we don't know Ys 3 will be rotten yet.
I mean, it's less obvious than the VMJ port.

The YS Eternal games were GOOD remakes. They could have been better. The openings were great and they reproduced the originals well, but I was a bit disappointed in the music (on both the PS2 and PC versions...yes I was crazy enough to get both) which isn't NEARLY as good as the PC-Engine soundtrack.

Still, it was worth playing the game again that way and I feel the same way about Ys III. I'm sure it'll at least be...satisfactory. That is to say, I don't think they'll make the game WORSE.

I wish they had actually used Dark Fact's opening design IN Ys Eternal. It drives me crazy, because Falcom has a lot of crappy artists, but whoever did the opening art in Ys Eternal was really excellent. I've never seen the characters look so good. Falcom normally employs the most generic, outdated anime-styled CG artists they can possibly find.

I was annoyed that they gave him walking sounds. Was that in the PC version as well? It made me play the game with the sound off.

yep.

I'm wondering now if I'm an annoying person. I'm not REALLY annoying, because I'm always being annoyed by REALLY annoying people. People who do annoying things, or let annoying things happen to them and just don't notice, because they're so annoying, area annoying people. People who smack their mouth when they eat or leave their hair everywhere or don't go away even when you're mean to them are really annoying people.

Now, any normal person would be annoyed by a walking sound, but an annoying person probably wouldn't even notice it. That was the case with me, though I would probably notice it now. I guess I can accept the reality that I am moderately annoying.

I really loved the sound of walking through snow in Seiken Densetsu 3.

I hadn't heard the Y's walking sound in question. I was going to boot up Y's 6 to see if it has one, but I don't feel like watching the opening cinema again. The English version voice acting is repulsive.

Oh yeah, but I certainly didn't notice any annoying walking sounds while I was playing. And the actual game is completely rad.

Voice acting? The PS2 one has voice acting? I"m not exactly excited, since all of the characters in Ys6 aren't particularly interesting, but I'm glad they bothered adding it all the same.

Please, don't be glad either. I recommend turning down the voice volume all the way down as soon as possible, and muting your television during the opening and ending cinemas if you don't want to *hate* Terra and Dogi for no good reason (unless you already love them... I was totally new to the series, so....)

Dogi rules, Terra always sucked. They should ditch Terra and bring back Karna.

I assume you're talking about the English one, though?
I almost never play the English version of anything, but I doubt I'll play either PS2 version of Ys6, since I've already played the PC one quite a bit.

Yeah, as mentioned in my first post. The thing is I can only speak for that version, but I guess it's reasonable to assume the J-version has it too.

Hmm, I think I may quit posting for a while when I reach 1500 posts to see if it makes me a more productive individual.
