Square Launches Official Kingdom Hearts English site
[ Kingdom Hearts ]

Square has opened the official English site of their upcoming collaborative game with Disney, Kingdom Hearts.

The site currently features trailers at High and low bandwidth (8.4 / 4.3 MB), details on the game (in-game voices currently unavailable), and a sweepstake in which a maximum of 10 finalists will be given a 75$(retail value) framed art print with artist Tetsuya Nomura's autograph. One final winner will have their name in the English version of the software.

Other sections of the site are unavailable as of now. Kingdom Hearts is scheduled for release in Fall of 2002.

Short Comment- From their fine prints in the sweepstakes, it seems that WWW.KINGDOMHEARTS.COM is the official URL for the site. But at least at the current moment, the URL is just used for forwarding to the Playonline's section. - Henry Moriarty

April Fools- Yesterday was Insane : All News April Fools

-Happy April Fools!!-

Gotcha! This is the one time in the year that the MMCafe puts up fake info, and attempts at its best effort to confuse the living soul out of all visitors. Likewise to Last Year, *all* of the news from yesterday were April Fools jokes. There was a message hidden between the sentences at the top of the site saying so yesterday- congrats to those who were keen enough to discover it!

The MMCafe will now return to its regular course in serving accurate and fast news, fresh off the Grill. Also, please note that All of the news prior to April Fools day are for real, including the SNK vs Capcom announcement.

That said, here goes a quick rundown on how the April fools were made. Enjoy the rest of the month!

- Henry Adams Moriarty, The Madman's Cafe

- Marvel vs Capcom 3
The top April fools of the year. This joke was not scheduled until the last moment, when I received a mail from long term MMCafeBBS user Talbaineric that his friend was interested in presenting a MvC3 pic for April Fools. The quality of the images turned out to be superb, so it was posted as the top April fools.

So, who had the skills enough to create a pair of such convincing MvC3 shots? They were made by the very talented PsychoSquall, and Zato-2TWO. The image was edited by PsychoSquall, and the logo design was created by Zato2TWO. Most of the new characters in the list were also suggested by them and their friends.

The article took me some time to write so that it would sound legitimate, but it was created from scratch to support the images. Sagat and Blanka hidden with the bosses is a joke of course, since they were too strong in CvS2. I didn't expect Shoruken.com to participate into the April fools, but their staff did a pretty good job at it without making direct contact.
.
So if you see PsychoSquall or Zato2TWO around, don't shout at them like a confused child- praise them for their Fantastic imagery. Great work, you two guys!!

- Guilty Gear TV Anime
No, there is no Guilty Gear anime, nor are there any news or images posted in the latest issue of Animage. The images aren't totally fake, however. The scans are courtesy of Enterbrain Co.'s Arcadia magazine, and they're from the opening scene of Sammy's upcoming game, GuiltyGear XX. Yes, it's going to have an animated opening. More images can be seen below for those who are interested.

- Tekken 4 Combot Spanking

No, there is no "Combot Type II", at least in the actual gameplay. And Combot doesn't have a spanking move either. Combot does spank Lee in a movie scene though, and that's where the animated gif was taken from. It's not worth a purchase by itself, but it's quite humorous, of course.
