KDD Announces New NetWork service -Tie up with Capcom Co. (1/25/00)

Major communication company in Japan KDD, announced their new communication service named "Matching service".

The "Matching Service" is a Data On Demand service which allows data transfers between multiple anonymous users at a high speed of under 70 Nanoseconds.
The connection fee is 9 to 20 Yen a minute, depending on the game.

While this service is currently planned for only the Dreamcast and Capcom, KDD's service can allow connections between different platforms, distinguishing itself from previously existing services. Its unique connection architecture is also
different from previous services as well.

To use the service, the player only needs to dial in to a local connection point using a game machine. After registration takes place on a game server (either game specific or company specific -ie: Capcom), the line cuts off and the player's machine automatically re-dials into the KDD's control machine which "connects" a player's call to another player, allowing a game to be played.

The first of game to take advantage of this Matching Service will be Marvel Vs Capcom 2, to be released in 3/23. Other DreamCast game releases from capcom compatible to the service will follow, as indicated below.

Marvel Vs Capcom 2 - Release: 3/23/00 (Simultaneous release w/Arcade)
