SNK vs Capcom News Release (9/12/99)
 
Two symbols of Two companies.
 
  
Capcom and SNK released official news on their mutual fighting game project for the arcade and Dreamcast, "SNK vs Capcom".  
   
Unlike the NeoGeo Pocket version of SNK vs Capcom, the fighter game version is in production by Capcom and not SNK. As can be seen, the game will be 2D and not 3D. While specific details on the game system is not yet released, two systems- currently named tentatively as Capcom ISM and SNK ISM, is confirmed to be present.

Thus so far, six characters have been confirmed in the development for SNK vs Capcom-  

Capcom side 
Ryu, Chun-li, Guile 

SNK side 
Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, Mai Shiranui 
  
 
 
 

In addition, the following details have been revelead during the AM (Amusement   Show)  in Tokyo from 9/11-9/12.

1- Additional Confirmed characters

Capcom side: Ken, Blanka, Zangief
SNK Side :Terry, Benimaru, Raiden

2- Characters with weapons may be present in the game, (Last Blade, Samuai Shodown).

3- Over 20 characters are scheduled to be in the game.

4- Two bosses are scheduled for the game- one from each side of the company.

5- The game plays with (not 6), but 4 attack buttons.

6- A team battle system is present.

7- No aerial raves.

 
 
 

  
 
Chunli vs Iori
 
As the game is still under heavy development as of the current, only basic motions can be done with the characters, and stage backgrounds are not yet created- they have been borroweed temporarily from Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter 3.  
  
The release of the DreamCast version is scheduled to folow the arcade release closely, as in the similar case to Capcom's 3D game Power Stone.
