Somehow a form got onto my windows 98 and I can't get it to startup without running the stupid thing. It basically forces me to install a mess of adware and shit and if I try to skip it the OS won't load, not even the taskbar.
Anyway I'm writing this from my backup OS but I really need a way to get back into Win98. Anyone know how to start safe mode? Or is there a way to supress startup files loading without starting the OS?

Pressing F8 when windows just starts loading should give you the option to go into safe mode. It's been a while since I used 98.

Well, I got into safe mode and it does the same goddamn thing. What a freaking nuisance.

I just hope you don't have to resort to formatting the harddrive... Try the F8 method for safe mode first then get back to us. Godspeed.

Well, if that doesn't works you could try installing what it asks for and then AdAwaring it out of it...

God, only XP could make ADSL run like a fucking 56k.

That doesn't work. Even if I let it install crap I still can't get into windows.
I tried reinstalling 98 with a CD install but all that did is make my computer do the startup sound when I boot. Then this thing comes up again. It's a window that says something like "Form1" and has a res:// link embedded in it to some kind of porn site, and when it shows up windows just stops loading. No explorer, no toolbar, nothing. I try closing it quickly but apparently its existence is what is causing this. And it shows up even if I tell it to ignore the registry and all windows drivers. I can't get around it with anything short of a command prompt.
