Yeah, I do nothing but talk about this game, I know. :p And I may be the only one who cares about the following question, but whatever...
I heard SS5S had only 12 stages (backgrounds), is that true ? While SS5 had 17... (Not that it's that much of a problem, after all, KoF 98 only had 9 for instance...)

* playing proudly with Suija in SS0 * well, now that we are in the mood I would like to know if the music is similar in SS0S to the one in SS0; I mean, as for know SS0 mainly has sound effects as music and noy many BGMs....

Actually, I think it has more stages, but I haven't counted (although now that I think about it, it might be missing some of the stages lifted right out of Samuspi 3 and 4..) but again, I haven't really counted.. Actually, I find SS 0 has plenty of music, just as much as SS0S (the music in Gedou's stage is better in SS0S, though..)

Toxico : I didn't answer the question because I don't know... You said there were 17 stages in SS0 non Special ? That seems like a lot. I never thought about it, but... Oh well.

Here are the 12 stages I counted...
Having rewatched the 'all Zetsumei' video, I haven't spotted any other background, but I could be wrong, since the backgrounds change and look special during Zetsumei...
The SSZ official site showed some pics of the game featuring Yumeji's stage, but that was probably from an early beta... (she isn't even in the game anyway)

Well, this is something that has been itching me for a while; but does anyone recall the tier list for SS0 and SS0S???

I haven't looked for a long time, so maybe I don't remember well, but Suijasama was amongst the first in both games (he won the tôgeki). The 2 most powerful characters of SS0 were Yoshitora (shikoshiko) and Unpi (flying around until time over), though. I think Gedo was amongst the strongest in SS0S... Rasetsumaru was pretty high too, don't remember in what game it was. Except for a few characters (Enja, Mizuki), the gap between character is not that huge... Ukyô is always good, Charolette's normal are always useful... etc etc.

Well Iggy, thanks to your words I remembered a few details:
After the beta test Basara was among the weakest if not THE weakest chars on SS0.
At some point Unpi (yunfei) was among the weakest of SS0S.
Fun fact -> At first it was stated that the man behind Kenshin will design 3 characters for SS0; I heard that Yoshitora and Gao are two of them, dunno who is the third one ¬_¬
Fun fact -> On the beta test of SS0S Yuki had the bosses tell you jokes before fighting with them; that was just done for fun as they stated that said jokes will be cut out from the final version... I never got to know what where the jokes about tough ;P

It was something amongst the line of "it's not because it's a beta test that I'll let you beat me easily", or something like this.

Well, it was funny because of the vocabulary used (each boss has a very specific way of speaking) not because of what they were saying, so the translation was a little pointless...
