The rights to Street Fighter toys were owned by Hasbro back in the early days, so they got the brilliant idea to insert SF characters into the GI Joe universe. The result was... pretty ugly. These cards are the inserts contained in the packaging.

...

...and now you know.

Yep! I remember them too! Really lame. To my knowledge, Ken Masters got his last name because of this, because the toy company didn't want customers to confuse this Ken with Barbie's Ken.

Yes, it's Crap!... Because it's not Scottish.

So, you mean it's not a joke ? Not even the "awesome attack move" "seven hit re-dizzy combo" ?

Joe : seeing this gives me the exact same reaction as the barbie in my tag.

Guile should start driving his Sonic Boom Tank around in the games. The concept was idiotic but it was such a great name. That, and Blanka and Chun-Li need to start driving around in a missle launching truck.

I like the detail "since Chunli is a chick, there is no way she can drive it, because women can't drive! (as we say in french, femme au volant, mort au tournant) Blanka should drive, he's a man, so he is genetically able to do it, even though he's a monster who hasn't met another human being in his whole life".

Edit : plus she has ceremonial hair wear !

Ha ha! I remember those vehicles. I think they had a helicopter too. Good lord! Seeing these brings back all the hate I had for those toys way back in my high school days, what a geek I was back then...

since G.I. Joe's comics are published by Devil's Due and so are the Street Fighter comics...do you think they are trying to revive this "union?" man i hope not.

Um... GI Joe is being made by Dreamwave, right? Udon is doing Street Fighter... So I guess we're safe... for now...

G.I. Joe and SF Comics are both from Devil's Due.

Don't you know the G.I. Joe comics only rehash stuff from the 80s Cartoon and 80s Comic but don't have the good sense to rehash the Mainframe/Zarana Romance? WE ARE SAFE. Start worrying if you see Refrigerator Perry in the G.I. Joe Comic.

i think you are thinking of Transformers that is placing their creative and publishing team that is Dreamwave.

G.I. Joe is done by the creative and publishing team that is Devil's Due.

Street Fighter is done by Udon and i am aware that the Udon Comics logo is now on the covers but it is PUBLISHED by Devil's Due "umbrella."

I remember having a Chun-Li that I later repeatedly slammed in a door Kill Bill-style. I think the paint was chipping or something, but I was just very mad at Chun-Li that day.

I was an odd small child.

What??, I used to chase my sister with a knife when I was 8... See? That's perfectly natural.

And by the way, I'm afraid to open the link; but I will do so when I'm drunk enough.... Perhaps links like these are the reason my house is haunted ¬_¬

Heh, I used to have these toys back in the day, when I was a kid I thought they were so cool, not because they were any good, but because there was no other Street Fighter figures. Looking back, yes, indeed they are lame. Ken looks like he belongs in Street Fighter 2010.

I never bought those toys. Let's just say when I saw that Ryu came with two Katana Swords, it was a dark day for Capcom Fandom... X-men vs. SF Toys were better, still kind of lame. Thank goodness for Resaurus SF Toys and an extra extra special thanks to Sota SF Toys!

Ya but when these were made, it was not the Capcom fandom of the mid to late 90s either though.

Yeah, but my Capcom Fandom goes way back to Megaman II. SF2 came later on to solidify my insane Fandomness.

So perhaps, those toys were a dark day for me at least...

I remember in Kindergarden, we had a gift exchange for the holidays. I got a stupid book about animals while my classmate got a one of those GI Joe ver Guile toys. The second I saw him with the toy I was filled with jealousy. After we put our gifts in our backpacks,it was time for everyone to go home. So while no one was looking I got my crappy animal present book, opened my classmates' backpack and switch my present for his Guile toy.

After the sucessful operation I quickly ran to the car pool where my mom picked me up. I remember having the best time with that toy. I use to have my power rangers get their asses kicked by having guile do "sonic booms" and "flash kicks".

Those were the days...

I remember those. I had Zagief, Ryu, Blanka, Honda, and I think I had that car with the Red Chun-Li . I thought it was really weird that Ryu had a fanny pack molded into him and Zangief had the top. I remember back in the 3rd or 4th grade a female classmate brought in the Chun-Li and I made the comment that I liked her spinning bird kick. She didn't know what what i was talking about even though she said she played the game. I had to display it with the figure and she still didn't know. And thats the end of that pointless story.

----Ummm, I think my friend Garett still has those toys in his room (street fighter) with legions of power rangers, and some groping other action figures with sexual innuendos. Oh, and he's 31 by the way.

Whoever did that artwork for Chun-Li needs to be shot. She looks like a 50 year old spider lady.
