Hey everyone, in my now near-sleep state, I got to wondering, what does everyone think the purpose of this board is? Like, I've seen some people critize other people for posting stuff not related to games or anime, so is our board mainly a game or anime discussion board? Or is it more of a misc. whacky board? I just figure it would be interesting to hear what this board is to everyone and see if everyone's on the same page or is everyone's reading different books. Bad metaphor, but you get the point. Or is the real point of this post that I shouldn't make threads when tired? You choose! I am kinda curious what our beloved local deity, the Professor, had in mind when he made the board. On a random note, whatever happened to Chupiler? I'm can't remember the last time Chupiler posted...

It isn't populated by jackass seventh graders talking about how high they were last Saturday and how their mom is "like totally up my ass" about not taking the garbage out.

In the short, the purpose of this board is that no one has ever asked us how long crack stays in their system, because if their employer decides to do a random drug test, then Shop-Rite is definitely gonna fire their ass.

Probably observing one game we don't know. If I had to guess when did he post last, it's somewhere around the time of the "Rage of the Dragons" tests. Could be wrong though.

Side notes: I want a "Read or Die" arcade fighter! I may have some sort of interest to make a "RotD" guide on some of the unanswered issues from the tests thread. Then again, someone else can do this task for me.

This board is to get news on the latest games/anime/manga/movie/comics. Share information. Share opinions. Not be a-holes. Plus a few random topics.

Thats my unofficial definition of what this board is. I also think we've gotten to the point that this is almost like a 'family' board, where we just share whats going on in each others lives. Afterall, its usually just the same 30 people who post here anyway! There are a lot of members, but most of them lurk or post rarely.

I'd also kinda like it if we moved to a better, more organized board. The current bbs has the charm of being simple and being the same for such a long time. But keeping track of threads is sooooo hard here. But anyway...!

Oh yeah, and 8 posts away from the big 1000!

Since the hidden features of the board are not hidden anymore, I can't stop to be amazed by the numbers of lurkers. I never saw the number go beyond 20 people online, and often go over 50 people at the same time.
Either the feature is broken, or this the most popular board I know despise the restricted number of posters.

Cool, so now I have a better understanding of the board. Usually I just come to this board to find obscure news on random stuff and read the good posts. I do agree, out of all the message boards I've been too, this is one of the more civilized boards, although still insane. Kinda like a mad person wearing a business suit... wait a sec! That's it! Mad Man's Cafe! Everyone's insane, yet we are all wearing business suits and drinking coffee!

Better few interesting posts then a shitload of unreadable garbage. I don't remember how many posts has SN.... Well, mostly I come here for news...and most of that comes from Iggy. So my secondary objective seems to be talking to him.

At any rate, it's a bit odd that I know very little about the people here. We don't have many "personal" topics very often. I guess if there was an introduction thread, I ignored it.

Anyway, I'm able to keep coming here because people are always talking about this and that. If it got too slow, I'd probably go away.

I like everyone here OK...well...except for 2 people who I really hate. Hee hee...

Yeah, but you know, after my wedding with Onsy failed, I'm not sure I'm ready to begin another relationship right now.

actually I think it's kind of funny how there are sort of 'groups' within the mmcafe that talk about different stuff.

for me, the purpose is to entertain myself and get news...both at once. This is still my favorite board after all this time...though I guess I've only been on the bbs for a couple of years. I've been an mmcafe reader since almost the beginning, just by accident.

Well, I might sound kind of lame but my main purpose on this board is well... Read. This is one of the few boards where I do seriously take into account the words of the board members, of course they don't heed me but I still read carefuly what they say and think. For example whenever people says 'this is the best game ever' I do believe them and take their opinions seriously... Of course I do that with all except for a certain someone that 'we all know who'.

Well, you could add that I believe that this board is also to test out strange use of english and to worship powerful pagan figures *bows*

I remembered when was the last time that Chupiler posted was when he wasn't working ;P and that was about the read or die and rage of the dragons things.

I love these forums, but I really feel that they need updated in a reeeeeeally bad way, and haven't progressed past message forum technology and features from a decade ago. This place totally screams for VBulletin. :P

The Professor is a busy fellow, so I suppose it would be a bit much to ask for him to do it himself, but I think that this site could really use some extra staff both for the main site and the forums. Even without the main page being updated at all, the site still manages to get a lot of hits, and that seems like wasted potential to me.

For the longest amount of time here on this board, I think this is the most informative in the whole world. I don't think there are any other places that have a nice graphic user interface. I would say that I like this bbs the most, so welcome, and stay here. It's a highly recommended site, and a lot of fun info happens here.

I love this board. Every other forum I belong to or belonged to has never matched up to this one. I think the community here is great and I get along (or think I do) with most of the people here. As for the purpose, I originally came to the boards based on looking for video game news and such but I don't think there is a definitive answer. We talk about pretty much anything.

The purpose of this Board? I dunno, I sit in front of a PC at work all day, so for me the purpose of this board is to not be bored...

That, and the occasional debate go a long way in killing time. I get into more arguments here than anywhere else. Can't help it, I'm a big jerk, and when there's fewer people posting my dumb ass comments stand out a lot more then on other boards, so more people respond instead of just ignoring me. ^_^
