quote: I kinda think a game based on the Old Testament would be pretty cool since it would involve tons of warring factions, biological weapons and magic curses that cause cancer. I mean, look how cool the SMT and Persona series are and they are stuffed with Judeo-Christian (along with tons of other cultures) religious references. People just waste time making games about going to church or helping animals get on the Ark.
Exactly. I don't see why these Christian game designers bother with this "convert the demons with your love power" crap when paladins, crusaders, and priests are all very popular in MMORPGs and Judeo-Christian mythology has been popular in numerous console games (SMT, Xenogears, Castlevania).
Wouldn't it make more sense to just inject some Christian values into a game about hunting vampires or demons? I don't see why a game has to be completely devoid of conflict in order to be Christian. The Bible certainly isn't devoid of conflict. Or gore, for that matter. I've seen a lot of Christian guilds in Warcraft, Ragnarok Online, and other online games, usually playing as some form of holy warrior or benevolent healer, so there's obviously some sort of market for this sort of game.

Or sex or profanity.

Makes sense but normally it seems that in the zeal of making a "good, wholesome form of entertainment" alot of christian developers ignore the fun factor. This probably has some to deal with negative vibes from other christians. As previously stated, most vampire hunters are christians or funded by the church but the genre gets shunned by the concept of being too violent and the fear of being looked down upon is too much.
Somewhere a while back, Insert Credit did a short piece on christian videogames.
