Dammit, I wish this game was on XBox with Live support. Not only would it look as good as the arcade version, but it'd be so fun playing against more people. That plus the already-deep Quest mode would make this game impossible to put down, IMO.
Ew. Online support = lag. Lag = VF moving or playing slowly. When you have moves and combos requiring incredibly precise movements within FRAMES of each other, you lose that ability online. Akira's single Frame Knee would be nigh impossible to do effectively.
What I don't understand is why Xbox Live has so many lag problems. When I played Mark of the Wolves, KOF, and Last Blade on Kaillera, I hardly ever had any problems with lag. I could still pull off complicated combos, my opponents could still pull off complicated combos, and we only very occasionally whiffed supers because of lag. I even recognized a lot of the longest combos from the MotW tournament vids that someone posted awhile ago, and I recognized them from my opponents in Kaillera. So where is this problem coming from? Can you not see see your opponent's ping in Xbox Live games or something?

Er, that's not exactly what I was aiming for. I have a feeling that DoAU will be more than playable, but that's mainly due to the architecture of the game not being as timing reliant as VF or even TTT/4/5. If I get an Xbox, it actually WOULD be kinda fun to play DoA online with other people just for some variety. Even if the game is slightly broken. >_>
quote: Tekken 4 looks and sounds like a whole different game when it's high-level play gets described (kinda like TTT and the other Tekkens too, actually)... All the insane wave dashing stuff makes it sound really neat to me... though it could also be extremely stupid when it's being put into practice. I don't know, I don't play Tekken.
Having actually watched some T4 tournament videos, WDing is certainly crazy to watch (though I was finally able to do it after a while thanks to playing, er, VF ^^; ). Though my only complaints about T4 are the same as everyone else's: Jin being an almighty Odin in the game, walls in general (comboing or otherwise) and the controls being messed with so that pressing down makes you walk instead of crouch (controls in general, again). T5 apparently fixes all of these.

I don't know about other fighters on XBox, but do you think it was possible that CvS2 used the same net code as the Dreamcast JPN version? I heard some people make accusations regarding that. It would make sense, because the JPN DC version would probably have been optimized for a dial-up modem. If that's true, I hope the upcoming SF Anniversary Collection doesn't suffer the same fate with SF3:3S.
There are a lot of other Live games that seem to play better... but I don't know if it's because it's optimized better, or if it could be other factors.
