Also, GG Isuka on the PS2 will have a new character named A.B.A. It's hard to explain her, but she's more of the eerie type of character like Zappa. She looks relatively human, but she's supposed to be a an artificial creation that was abandoned right after her birth, which explains why the upper half of her body is bandaged all over and she's bleeding from spot to spot. A.B.A fights using a giant key as her weapon, and she can change it it into two different modes by using blood pack icons that are found on the bottom of the screen.
Very good cut on Evil mario, Professor, it's a hell of a laugh, literally. Now, we'll just wait and see later this month if CFJ will be better than the KOF dream match ripoff.Later.

Nice! I'm expecting now for people from other Capcom franchises (Rival Schools, Cyberbots, Saturday Night Slam Masters, maybe even people like Strider Hiryu and Ruby Heart). BTW, isn't "Kenji" the name of the Warzard ninja?

I wouldn't bet on it. I think the idea that they're going for is that the characters represent each of these five specific games, by which I mean they have the "groove", movelists, and playability of the games they originate from. So I doubt that they will (or would be able to in the next few months) be adding any games aside from these five.
How Ingrid will play is a little more questionable. Will she represent the CFAS gameplay, will she be able to choose her groove from the five other games, or something brand new?
However, don't lose all hope yet. Again, Ingrid is the wild card thrown into the mix, so you can't rule out the use of other new characters or a random character or two from other Capcom games (including CFAS). I just don't expect any other games to be represented as fully as the five that have been announced so far.

A.B.A. sounds VERY interesting. I'm hoping there's a character sketch of her floating around somewhere (I'll check the front page when I get home).
As for the rest, I'm very happy to hear Jedah made it in. He's an awesome character... gotta love the claw rake moves. Someone mentioned other Capcom series like Rival Schools... I think this is a little bit of a long shot, but I'd love to see Tiffany show up in the game. Momo would be great, too... and so would... that girl... ehh. Can't remember her name. She's wearing that full navy blue dress, and she's got the leather mask over her mouth with straps on it. I wanna say it starts with a K.
Heh heh. I got my hopes up for a second when I saw "Mukuro" in the list, because that berserk psycho corpse from Last Blade 2 popped into my head. Then I realized that couldn't be who you meant. Heh heh. Ah, well... guess a ninja's cool, too.

NOW I WILL GIVE MY INPUT BLAARG
quote: Evil Mario
Too easy. He's getting to be Capcom's standard evil supervillain, and he's losing his badass factor daily. Mostly since his gameplay design just doesn't let him be that good outside of Street Fighter-type fighting games like CvS2 or just regular SF(i.e. technical and restrained). Capcom should give him:
1: Psycho Crusher as special, not super 2: Jab Psycho Crusher with invulnerability frame (for some semblance of wakeup) 3: Psycho Field 4: Circle commands (not charge)
At least. No, seriously. Bison's always been a deceptively low-powered character, in my opinion.
quote: Jedah
*dances the robot naked*
THIS IS A GOOD THING. Jedah in CFJ, not my indeceny. Jedah is just a unique and well-put together character that, I think, can fit well into any game. I just hope they allow him to do his self-decapitation at any time, because that's all I'd ever do anyway.
quote: Mukuro
NINJA+GUN=ROXXORZ
And that's all I've got. Just don't give him an SPD, please? For me?
quote: Rose
Excellent! Rose needs the spotlight! Just give her some more moves, and it'll be perfect. (I think she's a little too limited currently, and her character should have some strange but useful moves. And an overhead, damnit.)
quote: Alex
Ehh, why not.

Neat idea. However, keys are getting way too common a gimmick weapon. I seem to be seeing them all over the place nowadays - I would suggest her using some kind of unique bladed thing that no one's ever seen before.

Holy geez, have you ever seen him in the Vs. games? Sure, he's got the slightly goofy Alpha sprite, but he's badass. Well, not in actual gameplay terms... but appearances count!

NINJA+GUN=ROXXORZ
Which is another reason why the game Captain Commando is badass.

And whatever happened to Capcom's once-glorious sprite producing department? I never found out. I find it hard to believe that the enormously talented people who did all those Alpha/Marvel era sprites could suddenly vanish off the face of the earth.

That's right. If you're right, what does the SFII system have that the others don't How would SFII Ryu compete against SFIII Chun-Li? And since they do have a super meter, it should be SSFIIT, not SFII

It would indeed all depend on the brand of SF2. If it was SF2WW, then it would need nothing more than Guile's jab punch and throws. Throws were techable post WW. Some character strategies would be wholly ineffective against later game mechanics (e.g. machine gun keepaway Sagat vs. parry, hmmm) while others should hold up pretty well (ST boxer Balrog will take on parries, no problem). But I don't believe that they will take anyone from classic SF2 tho, simply because they have character sprites from Alpha to choose from, and having Alpha sprites with classic SF2 game restrictions would look even more backwards...

They could do like the "Classic" mode in SFA3. New sprites, but no super, no air blocks, no tick damage (I think), massive damage.
Another option could be whatever they used for the anniversary edition. (What did they use? I never played it.)

BTW, I don't know if this is old news, but The Magic Box has screenshots from CFJ with the 5 new characters. In my opinion, Alex doesn't look like his SFIII sprites, but I'm not sure if he was redrawn, but maybe he was. Same goes to Rose (although the screens aren't very good, so maybe she's still her Alpha incarnation, but at least her special punch with the scarf looks different). Vega/M.Bison looks like the way he was in CvS2, Jedah doesn't seem to be different from DS, and I never saw Mukuro to say if he was redrawn or not (but he looks cool!). Unfortunately, no screenshots of Ingrid yet (even her name as the 2nd. character from the team appears), I hope she will appear soon.

quote: But even if he is, I would expect that the SF3 characters would still choose one super, or at the very least, they'll have just one full-length bar like the P-Groove in CvS2.
So far, the screenshots and videos all show a 2 level, uniform length bar for all sfIII characters. Yun is shown doing his you-hou with meter left over, which seems to indicate that there will not be different costs for different supers ('cuz the you-hou had the longest bar of his 3 supers). 'Course, chunner is shown doing her SAII with a completely empty bar, so mebbe the really useful supers get the 2 bar treatment (chun->SAII, yun->genei-jin, alex-> uhh . . . yeah, I guess he'll save the meter for his ex moves) hmm, wonder if the DS and SFIII characters will be keeping their ex moves.

quote: I wonder if you're right about Midnight Bliss being in the game. If it is, I think this game won't likely have a MVC2 sized cast of characters. That'd be a lot of transformations.
I thought the transformations were just a still frame of the character standing there, and then a few frames for Demitri draining them? I think that'd be within Capcom's "aahhhh, but I don't WANNA animaaaaaate" range.
quote A Tenacious D tribute. Preferably, a Viking named Wonderboy with an Overdrive that causes John Cusack to come out and start beating up the opponent.
Bleh. They're too "current and popular." I'm tired of seeing Jack Black EVERYWHERE anyway... He's our current MTV Class Clown of the US. GG's got to have old-school band references, and more on the metal side (not that I'm into 80's metal, but I think if they're going to have a theme, they might as well stick with it). Ooh! I'd love it if there was some tie-in to White Zombie in GG... that would be great.
...As for Tenacious D if there was some kind of Sasquatch with Rocket Sace as its weapon or something, then I don't think I'd complain.
