The first day : KOF 2003, Savior and VF4Evo.
03 : Midaidokoro is 4th without using Duolon, the other used, him, dont care.

VF4 : I don't know, I care even less.

Savior : Chikyû's Anakaris was impressive as ever, it seems, but unfortunately Oboro's victor and Kaji's Lilith won.
The 8 last fighters used Jedah (2), Sasquatch, Felicia, Q Bee, Zabel, Buletta, and Galon.
Finally, Haitani's Sasquatch won against T2ya's Zabel.
Raaah, Savior, Savior, Savior, best game ever !

Today will be CvS2 and Third Strike.

Too bad Himitsukessha lost in the final... only 2 Blanka, no Sagat...
Well, good for them to have come that far.

And I didn't know Makoto had fallen that badly ?

Good to hear VS is getting played at a competitive level and it's also good to hear that there are people out there willing to put the work into Anakaris to make him playable in a tournamet. What characters were used in the 3S and CvS2 matches?

Chikyu is famous to be the only player to use Anakaris at a competitive level... And he is impressive.
For the CvS2/3rd questions, it was a team tournament, 3vs3 (players), so they used too many characters to list. Only 2 Makoto did it to the 1/4 final, that's what surprised me the most. Lots of Ken/Chunli/Dudley/Urien/Yun, though.

Gotta agree with Ishmael -- great to see this game being played competitively (hopefully we'll get to see some Savior matches on the next Tougeki DVDs) -- and with Iggy -- Savior's a fantastic game (and I think the wide range of different characters being selected in tournament play proves that).

And now, the other good game of the Tôgeki - Samusupi Zero's final has ended, and... the Don family lost its 3rd fight, hahaha.
Strangely enough, not a single Yoshitora remained in the 8 finalists, and the final was between Charlotte (won against Rera) and Suijasama (won against Gedô).
And of course Suijasama won !

Charlotte always was a strong character, but she never seemed very popular... Good to see her reach the final.

Sujia won the tournament and Gedo reached the semifinals? Wow, that's so unexpected...I love it. Hurray for Charlotte and Rera too.

It's not that unexpected... Suija is an extremely strong character, with great zoning and nasty tricks. Charlottle is the poking queen, and good poking is probably the hardest overall strategy to beat in any game (except maybe runaway). Rera has always been popular - if I'm not mistaken, she was originally top-four. I've heard her described as the game's Magneto.

And as for Kusaregedo-sama... he really is an excellent character. He's all about using his best pokes and landing his command grab, primarily the latter. There should be a vid on A-cho.com currently that shows a deadly, deadly Kusaregedo. Try to find it before they take it down.

Thanks for the great tips K' Man. I should go check A-cho.com. I know a bit about how strong these characters are- it's just that I expected Yoshitora and Yun Fei to be in the top 4 and it's nice to be surprised.

I wonder... did/was the Gedo player:
a) Not encounter any Mina players?
b) Play only Mina players that were significantly less skilled than him?
c) Supremely skilled, able to kill any Mina?

Well, there is a Gedo user at fierceslash.com who consistently beats Minas.
At least that's what people over at FS.com claims. So I'm guessing c.

Fighting game forums are full of people that are full of it... I'll believe it when it can be proven consistently.

Yes. Know why? Mina sucks. Turtle and you can win consistently. You wouldn't think so, but she has no mixup, and her only chipping moves leave her wide open, require massive charging time, or both. Landing one tongue trip, which has excellent range by the way, basically wins you the round. The only really big things to watch out for are her ABs, since they prevent turtling if they hit you, and her natural crossups on Kusaregedo (her arcing shot and her super). Other than that, it's much more favorable than it appears. Just remember this one thing - you can't make more than one mistake, but Mina can't make any.

Also, the guy on A-cho faced a high-level Basara (who's got a damn deadly zoning game himself, along with an actual close range game), and he also beat a Yoshitora. That alone proves the validity of Kusaregedo-sama. The guy on Fierce Slash is Madcowlms, he's won at least one tournament using Kusaregedo and others. Lastly, fierceslash.com really is the best resource I've found for strats. Give it a chance. The Kusaregedo section has all I've said and more.

You do know what the basic anti-Mina strategy is right? It's BLOCK. Her arrows do no tick block damage so inflict some damage on her first then turtle/block all day.

And even if Mina/gedô was a sure victory for her, Mina can't do anything against more balanced characters like Yoshitora, Suijasama or Charlotte. Are you going to take a character that is super strong against 2 character but weak against 10 others in a competition ? Those who did didn't go far.

Speaking of balanced characters, I'm surprised to see no Genjûrô ?

What I said. She sucks. That said, is there a character who is directly designed to counter her? (Not Yoshitora, who is directly designed to counter everyone)

On A-cho, he's probably second to Yoshitora for amount of use. People poke, throw, and especially use lots of cards (blocked bouncing card kills) and they land their rekkas. Genjuro gets repped really well there.

Hey, Chikyuu uses 12 in 3S, not to mention TK's Q, so I figured that most characters popular or no would be present at the tourney.

Dunno why there'd be no Genjuro.
