A playable demo was in Xenosaga freaks...

Damn it! The gameplay's practically the exact same thing! They've worked on the game for so long just so the characters look different!?

Also, Shion now kicks out reppukens from her legs when destroying objects on the field. Alternatively she can create a burst of wind around her to destroy the objects.

Well, they wanted to make sure it worked with the episode 1 saves I guess. Not changing anything about the engine is one way to do it.

Zero style? Haha.
Maybe she'll take out one room full of crates in one gust. That's awesome.
After all, Xenosaga is all about lesbianism, destroying boxes and Momo's panties

So far it seems that all the episode 1 savegame gives you is that you get to play kos-mos in a swimsuit...!(not available in the demo) It doesn't look like you'll be inheriting anything from episode 1.

Or I might be wrong.

Are the mech battles more integral, necessary, and affordable this time around? Hope the gameplay is improved.

I played thru Xenosaga Ep. 1, and found it somewhat entertaining (though it took a long time to play through). I didn't like it much (and not just because I'm not a fan of RPGs)--some of the battles were bloody annoying, and the stealth scenes were silly. Voice acting was REALLY annoying. Character design seemed too cutesy for the story that was being told.

Still not sure if I want to go through all of this again with Ep. 2 (even if I could afford it).

This was a big problem for me too. I didn't like the hyper anime styled characters and figured since 80% of the game is cutscenes, I wouldn't enjoy it and never bothered to buy the thing. However the newer designs look much better and I'm waiting to see how it turns out in terms of gameplay.

I just want to see a more practical use for the AGWS other than for collecting dust. They cost so much yet I hardly used them throughout the game. It seemed more like a novelty than an actual part of the gameplay.

About the AGWS battles, so far from what I can understand is that they are essential for certain battles now, as they're easily 10 times stronger than human characters. But their attacks are still as boring and simple as ever.

BUT, it also means that you can't switch freely between human characters or AGWS anymore, the game will decide what you would play. At least, that's the impression the demo gave. Since the mech was only available when battling with other mechs, and the human boss had less life than the minimum damage of the AGWS.

Maybe, just maybe, you could still switch between mech and human as you wish later in the game, but the human characters will become so awesomely powerful again and barehandedly destroy gigantic mechs, thus removing any use of needing the AGWS.

There has already been a cutscene with Jin Uzuki doing that, so I wouldn't rule that out.

Oh yeah, there're combination skills in battle now, but I bet everybody already knew that.

My point exactly! Thx for clearing that up Zepy. I bought the first one but I still haven't gotten around to playing it.

OT: Thx for signing the IMO FCL, this is Kim Fanatic (but u knew that) you rock etc. etc. XD

Edit: to stay on topic, by combination attacks you mean like Phantasy Star 4 or Chrono Trigger? I'm gonna guess the latter.

What? Episode 1 was so ridiculously incomplete I figured they did it that way on purpose so they could continue the data in Episode 2. If that's not the case, I just lost my reason to care.
