Got the big ol' Kill Bill Region 2 box yesterday in all its red blood glory.

The package is gorgeous: thick, sturdy box with a slipcase and a "door" that gives you access to the interior contents: one 'uncensored' Kill Bill Vol. 1 DVD with thick, full color film booklet, one L-size Okinawa, Japan t-shirt featured in Hattori Hanzo scene, one miniature Hattori Hanzo sword [real metal blade!], and one small, bloody bear figure [weird.]

As for the infamous fight scene... Color sure does make a difference. The amount of Red in some of the quick sequences takes up a majority of the frame at some points, it seems. Overall, the fight is all that much more powerful. Not sure if it's me or what, put you can pick up a few more things once you see it in color, as well.

And as for the other infamous scene... Yes, the Bride does cut off Sophie's arm, and yes, it does result in a good lot of blood spraying directly into the camera. Pretty harsh.

Screenshots of said Red scenes later.

What I wouldn't give for a video of the scene, as I'm a bum with no money.

Cats? I much prefer foxes.

Actually, thanks for the reminder. I backed up the DVD but I have a video encoder that doesn't have any audio options... And I forgot all about looking for another one.

Hopefully I can put up a clip by the end of the week or earlier.

Negative. Maybe in the inevitable next release...

[!*#%. I have the fight encoded in XviD, but I can't seem to split the frikkin file and get red of all the other junk before and after the scene. Later... hopefully...]

Thanks a lot for doing the screenshots and all. I really appreciate your efforts.

(Just to be a little nitpicking: Some of the new screenshots are a little tad too dark, but they are still great. Thanks.)

~?

About what?

If you mean... about the "inevitable future DVD release"... It's almost guaranteed there will be another release of Vol. 1 with Vol. 2, and perhaps with more extras [the current release only has a short making-of featurette and a 5,6,7,8s video.] It's also hoped for that the colored fight scene willl be included in there somewhere, but nothing is for sure, of course.

Beast! Hmm... you're right. I did the shots on my other computer [Mac], but now that I see them on my parents' PC... dark. Ek. Photoshop 'em [if you have it]!

Also: the XviD rip of the fight scene. Coming soon! I swear. Probably tomorrow.

Yea, but... what the hell is with that price?? [It was only $60 shipped.]

And they're sold out, anyway. I think they sold out through preorders, actually.

Ok... here is an XviD-encoded version of the fight scene. I tried DixV, and it looks about the same, or even a little worse.

Since there is so much motion [and DivX, XviD, etc. all seem to choke on high motion scenes], it looks somewhat pixelated throughout the clip. I think it looks good enough, though... I hope. I doubt I can encode a better looking version while keeping the file size in the range of something I can actually host.

Argh. I can't view it. The window media player tried downloading some codec but failed. Will go try on my friend's comp tomorrow and see. Update later if possible.

This rocks, just had to say thanks. The difference is very apparent and extremely cool.
