Well it started tonight.... not too bad. Doesn't seem to be any censoring so far in terms of blood and alcohol. The dubbing seems pretty appropriate, seems to be the same staff that did Cowboy Bebop. One thing I did notice though is that in the dubbing they didn't use that sort of reverb filter when characters are speaking in wolf form. A little annoying.. but overall very well done.

Crap, I didn't realize it was on tonight -- I was curious as to how the dub would be done! (Heh -- I was busy watching other anime, which coincidentally, included eps. 27-30 of the series.)

Ah, well -- at least I'll get to hear it next week, when they introduce Toboe.

EDIT: Hold on... according to my local listings, it's on at 3:30 AM again tonight in my area. I might be awake still.

----

EDIT 2: Just watched it. It was pretty good, as I expected from the same group that did Cowboy Bebop. Maybe a complaint some folks might have is that Hige's voice might've been a little bit whiny at times -- but it still worked well.

... and it was just good to see the first ep again after having watched the last ep.

Bastards cut out the opening...bah. At least the dubbing is good.

The dub was rather good. And like Freeter I'm pissed they cut the intro, and the outro was shortened by the way.

I would watch it but hey its dubbed. I keep emailing cartoon network and time warner but they never listen.

You would think a cool guy like ted turner would be open to our suggestions.

Until I get dubbed and not censored make mine fan-subbed!

www.i-channel.com is the best.

About the intro and ending... it's a common practice that first episodes don't have an intro so they don't give away any spoilers... I think Wolf's Rain in japan didn't have an intro for the first episode, in my recent memory the same went for Full Metal Alchemist.... well actually for the first episode of FMA they played the intro at the end of the episode.

I was disappointed in the cut ending though... especially since Gravity is such a great song. Cartoon Network does a lot of cutting of endings though... they cut down the ending credits of Blue Gender to like 15 seconds (of course that was to avoid the nudity in the ending)... but oddly they play the end credits of flcl in full.

I'd believe that if the editing wasn't so obvious...

The intro or outro do not contain an spoilers, if I recall correctly.

For the record, Adult Swim cuts the op/eds in order to show the full episode. (Edits not withstanding) They've mentioned that numerous times at conventions and during the bummper cards.

While I understand the disappointment, I'd rather see the actual show then loose up to five minutes of plot per episode for the theme songs.

I'd rather see the opening than the bumper cards (especially those lame random Japanese spots they have now).

While I would prefer the openings and full endings also, I actually kinda like those pre- and post-commercial spots. Not necessarily because of the location, but because they're somewhat ambient. Nice to have at the odd hours in the morning.

Either way, we'll see the opening and full ending with the DVDs.

Also they started posting some of the Op/Eds on the Adult Swim site. (Real Audio only) It's under the "others" section in the clips section. No Wolf's Rain yet, but they only started the section two weeks ago.
