I know that the high schools have mandatory uniforms but what about the colleges?

Not many at all do now, but a generation ago it wouldn't have been that out of the ordinary. My literature prof from Japan, who was there in the 60's, remembered that uniforms could still be seen around some universities...hard to imagine!
