fer some reason this question came up to me after watchin' some RPG trailer. So here's the question, who would you wanna be in the video-game universe with the respective genre, i mean the life-experiecne that the character had gone through. (could be cross-gender i guess =P) it's kinda stupid like asking which fantasy life u wanna live in if you think life sucks, but anyways
in the 2D fighters genre, I'd probably enjoy living in the Samurai Shodown times, but i don't know who coz i have absolutely idea about the characters' plot, but i generally like that 'culture'
in the RPG genre offers way too many choices. but Definitely NOT Squall, he gets hooked w/ a hottie, but i can't stand being a guy so childish like him..
in ActionRPG, i kinda think Snake is worth living out, or GreyFox, not for the action, bur really for the morbid stuck-up life, messy and aimless always living on the edge of life and death, does the most and nobody knows who he is...pretty freakin' sad
there really lots o' good stories eh

Running into Genjuro and being slashed in 2 for no reason is not a life that I would like to know !
If it's to have a horrible death, I would so much prefer being either Vice, Mature, Hymene or Ire (the two last ones having more fashion sense and less horrible death, so they obviously have my preferency). You spend your life in extremely expensive createur dress, nobody mind if you begin to make weird thing in these (weird things including fighting, but also having interesting interactions with her teammate and Rugal) and you die before your beloved dress becomes unfashionable. What's not to love in that ?
In RPGs, I think being the hero of Shin Megaten 3 would be awesome. Summoning extra cool demons like Shiva or Dionysos or Scathach and have them do whatever you want them to do can't possibly not be a fantasy to any person in his right state of mind. Plus, you get to create your own new world, which is certainly a nice thing, in a way.
But nothing could beat the joy of being the one and only Miyata Shirô, terrifying harmless innocent undead monsters with his hammer and burrying alive random pregnant women.
Oh, and having some of the coolest sentences in the history of videogames also helps I think. Killing someone with your hammer for no other reason that she is laughing too loud is already one of my main objectives in life, but doing so after sneezing and saying, bored, "hontôni shitsukoi onna danaa..." is something I can only dream of doing. Miyatan has so much lukkusu someone should create a new word just for him.
But being any other character of Siren must suck. Or maybe Harumi, if you pick the right interpretation of the events.

Being able to shot fire and beat people down is kinda nice, too.
I'm such a ham. I'd love to live the grand, tragic lives of all sorts of characters. Ok, I'd draw the line at the Berserk crew because all that mutiliation that just about everyone winds up receiving some of would be more than I could handle.
And no, I'm not sure that I'd like to be anyone from Fist of the North Star, because a world like that is just too screwed up to live in.
Enough vicarious daydreaming. I'm going to go play some games. Waitasec...

Too, too many, but here's three for starters:
FF - Ryuji Yamazaki. All the benefits of the Orochi bloodline (fantastic powers, crushing strength, perfect health, fearlessness, reputation, life of privilege) and none of the crap (sucking up to some 4th-rate "god", getting repeatedly pummelled by a couple of squabbling reprobates and their space-case mentor, having no life whatsoever, dying horribly). In fact, I'd be so busy rolling in my bottomless wealth and scoring with hot chicks that I wouldn't even have time to go on insane killing rampages.
SF - Chun Li. Take on an incredibly dangerous, bloodthirsty tyrant who effortlessly wasted several allies, totally crush his organization (with a little help), look stunning in the process, continue living, continue fighting and making money years after countless other girls have given up for good, continue looking stunning, then finally settle down to a life of respect and privilege...and for good measure, clobber ANOTHER dangerous tyrant to save a precious child. Mai Shiranui only wishes her life was even a tenth as good.
Police 911 - Any of the innocent bystanders, because no matter how many times I get shot, I'll never get hurt.
