They're being ported/remade, again. Does everybody know if the extra stuff mentioned here is in the PS1/Wonderswan remakes from a few years back?

Aaah... Naisu. We should thank Gamespot for the FFII spoiler, though... ¬¬'
Oboromaru. Yup seems they're all "one-eyed" masked guys now. Just coincidence. Sum EDGAR Rex Figaronis Edgar Roni Figaro from latin fanversion of FFVI

How come they NEVER do a remake of FF III? It's starting to irritate me. This is the third remake for crying out loud.

- An extra dungeon in each game - Revamping the old magic system into one that uses MP instead of having a limited number of uses - Saving anywhere in the game instead of needing save points (don't know if the last one was done with Origins though).

wha wha what? are you saying that they took out the D&D-style magic system in FF1 and replaced it with an MP system?
that feels so... wrong...

I agree, I liked that system, hopefully they'll have some kind of "Original" mode like FF Origins did.
Did anyone else notice the Doom Train sprite rip from FFVI?

excellent. I really liked the first FF. And I need a good RPG for my GBA because I hate Golden Sun and I've nearly completely FFTA.
excellent indeed. To bad this won't arrive until november or december the earliest (in the US).

Weren't they going to do one, though? I remember something like it being announced as the third Squenix GBA game (alongside with Sword of Mana and FFTA). Whatever happened to that (if I'm not just hallucinating it)?

I thought the third GBA game was a Chocobo game. Hotaraku Chocobo, or something like that.
There were rumors (I'm 99% sure it was official, but don't remember for sure) of them remaking FFIIIj back when they did the original WonderSwan revamps of I, II, and IV. As the story goes, they cancelled the project at some point before it was finished.
Once FF Origins showed up with the ports of the WonderSwan remakes of I and II, a large number of people had hopes that this meant that Square would keep going and finish the WS port of III and put it out for PSOne. Kind of made sense, since it was (is) the only numbered FF game that is not playable on a PlayStation 2. Plus you had the Onion Knight reference in FFX. But it never came.
It doesn't surprise me that people expect Square to port III to the GBA now.
