Yeah, in the demo it seems like it's instantaneous, and me no likes... How the hell can he change clothes in front of a soldier so fast? It's just too much. Hmmm... I wonder which'd be the camouflage index while naked? :p

Well, I guess they're just trying to really potentiate the camouflage aspect in this game, by giving the players the reward of becoming actually invisible if they manage to get a 100% index, which I guess should be quite hard, since you've got to be completely still, in the shadows and with the appropriate suit and paint, blah, blah, blah... No?
Oboromaru. Yup seems they're all "one-eyed" masked guys now. Just coincidence.

quote: haha thanks for the headup, it's truly amazing, can you really do that crocodile head trick during the game? that'd be awesome
Konami hasn't said much about it, but yes, you'll apparently be able to do that. The real question, on the other hand, is what else you can do with animals, besides eating them. That should be interesting.

An earlier build of the game was much more realistic, but it didn't really work as a game. In the earlier builds, reaching a higher camouflage index would make Snake appear invisible on your screen, without any of the ridiculous "tells" that the game gives you, like making Snake stick out in front of the tree, making Snake's sleeves a much lighter color than his camouflage, making Snake stand in a very visible pose, etc. It made you literally blend in with your surroundings, just like a camouflaged special forces operative can in real life.
However, this did not work as a game in any way, shape, or form. Because your character became invisible at 100% camouflage, and just very hard to see at the higher levels (70-95%, I guess?), you basically lost control of your character at those higher camouflage levels (who can control a completely invisible character?). In that situation, most players would prefer to stay uncamouflaged, rather than striving to reach 100%. So now the game looks kind of ridiculous, because soldiers can't see a very visible human being standing right next to them, and it doesn't make realistic sense at all, but at least it works as a game and has an interesting system to experiment with.
