The game is nice.
Capcom must be running their servers on atari 2600 or they didnt expect more than 3 people to buy the game. Oh well, it helped unlock stuff offline.
The load times didnt bother me much when I was playing the beta, but I sure hoped they would go faster. But with the hdd makes the thing awesome.
Music is nice.
Goddamn Bob is stubborn as hell.
I hear stuff about random freezings, anyone had this before?
Butter_monster was rank 1 points-wise in the first scenario for a bit.
Go to hell, Kevin.
oh and
NNNNNEEETTTTWWWOOOOORRRRRKKKKKKKK
I bought RE Outbreak yesterday, and is it just me or is this the hardest RE game yet made? I've died so many times now it's really starting to bug me. What's worse the game uses the old "temporary save" technique that Dragon Quarter used, which makes dying on the final part of a scenario frustrating as hell. Well at least if you die on the last part of a scenario the next one is unlocked anyway, but that makes me feel like I'm being patronized :P
Still it's kinda fun. I just wish you could make the NPCs shut up some way other than letting them get dragged out a window :P
I was trying to play with some people last night and we were having a horrible time. Two people couldn't connect at all and another couldn't see the games that we were creating. There are some definate issues here that Capcom had better address. When we actually played together for one game we kicked its ass since we weren't moronic like some of the people playing right now.
Otherwise it's a neat game. Lots of interesting weapons like brooms, spraycans and bottles of acid. The load times aren't THAT bad. I have a free HDD so they are great with that; I played a DVD game since one of the people I wanted to play with didn't have one and it is much longer to load, not enough to make you not want to play. I wish there was a setting so you could turn off the movies. It was annoying to be in a room, wait for the movie you've seen 100 times to load, see the movie since one guy won't press start, then wait as the original room loads again.
My game has frozen a few times, but I think that's due to the shitty network more than anything else.
Who's Bob?

SH has always been fully polygonal. No FMV backgrounds, ever since the first game. The flashlight was first used so that not all of the background had to be displayed at once, actually.
Yeah, I figured he had meant to say RE, but typed SH instead... RE has always been 3D characters on 2D rendered backgrounds. There were moving textures in SH3, so (assuming they did it how I think they did) there was a little bit on FMV applied as a texture, but otherwise all 3D since the beginning.
The flashlight in SH came off more as a conscious gameplay element to me, but it was convenient that it let geometry fall away into the dark. There's no question about the fog, though... although I'm sure they did both for the sake of hiding part of the environment. Either way, they both looked really good and ended up being major characteristics of the whole series.
