"Disgaea Question" , posted Mon 23 Feb 14:12post reply

This question is an absolute waste of your time and could easily be answered by GameFAQs, but I don't want to spoil anything in the game, and it's a fairly simple question, so I wondered if I could bother the Disgaea fans here for a minute.

The question: Is there any advantage to transmigrating my Level 19 Female Warrior into a Female Centurion? I understand the concept of transmigration, but I don't understand what the difference is between the various subtypes of characters. In this case, the Female Warrior is the first tier of female warrior and the Female Centurion is the third tier of female warrior, just like the Cleric is the first tier healer and the Bishop is the third tier healer.

Is there some advantage to transmigrating one into the other, or would I be better off either A) staying with what I have, B) transmigrating her into something similar like a Brawler or Knight, or C) transmigrating her into something completely different, like a healer or a monster or something? Does the Female Centurion have something that the Female Warrior doesn't (or can't) have?

Thanks. And sorry for the fairly useless question.

If I remember correctly, the only real advantage that clases of the same character type get over their lower bretheren is higher base stats, which, of course, lead to a greater stat increases between levels. I think weapon proficieny increases in some cases.
As for transmigrating into a different character type, well, since you probably spent your original bonus points suring up stats advantageous to your current chracter type, and a small amout of this is reflected in the base stats of your new character, and this small amount can make a fairly big difference several hundred levels later, it's usually best to keep to the same basic role.

I knew I would do it and I know this I know what I am doing now that I am doing something both beautiful but gruesome because I am destroying its beauty by knowing that it might be beautiful know that if I know that I am dong something beautiful that it's no longer beautiful. - Dave Eggers A.H.W.O.S.G.

So basically, I shouldn't do it, and I shouldn't even worry about transmigration until I'm well past Level 19. Gotcha.

Thanks.

Basically, transmigrating to a higher class -> better aptitude percentages and better weapon proficiencies.
So aim for the highest class you can!

Also, a tip about transmigration:

The elusive Zepy has proven before that even though continually transmigrating (at higher levels each time) creates a more powerful character stat wise, it's more worth your time hunting down uber equipment, maxing them out in the item world and pumping them full of the specialist of your choice (19998 Gladiators etc).

The stat difference when you equip fully maximised uber equipment on a level 1 untransmigrated character vs a character which has been transmigrated countless many times is very small.

So... transmigrate only to obtain a higher class, or if it will improve your kill rate, or if you find transmigrating fun :)

If your character was a 1st tier mage/cleric transmigrating is good as they get access to higher level spells.

There's actually a big topic on gamefaqs that proves that transmigrating on a whole is a complete waste of time and it's much better to improve your equipment. I never did much of either myself though. You don't need to do them to beat the game.

I actually have a Blue Mage and a Cleric (both first tier) that are around the same level, so I guess I should get started on that. That will take quite awhile, though, because my Cleric can't really kill anything, and therefore HASN'T really killed anything, which means that she has, like... 13 mana. I'm guessing that she'll do pretty well with a bow, though, so I shouldn't have any trouble there.

Luckily, I've actually been doing this already, because I think the Item World is just a really awesome portion of the game. Some of the battles there (which I assume are randomly generated?) have been a lot of fun, like the Level 10 map that was spotted with tons of EXP+50%/Invincibility/Clone panels, which created an endless army of monsters for me to kill at +50% EXP, all while hopping back and forth between the few safe areas on the map. It's also the only way I've been able to keep my Warrior's head above water, as she needs tons of specialists on her weapons just to keep pace with Laharl and Etna.

Thanks again for all the help.

Well, clerics are probably THE class who need transmigration to be really efficient. My personnal advice would be to level up your female (NOT MALE) cleric with a bow or through combo attacks up to the point you unlock the third tier of her class. Meantime, level up a mage to unlock the star mage, make one star mage pupil to your mage, make him learn star spells and power up his owns, and THEN, transmigrate it into a third tier female cleric. As result, you'll have a "strong" cleric with two kind of offensive magic, and her inner healing skills, plus she will still be able to learn the new spells of her pupil. A bit complicated, but quite efficient.
