The second episodes of "Kidou Shinsengumi Moeyo Ken" and "Area 88" are out if you don't know by now. The former was released the day before yesterday and the latter (though I'm not credited for) was released four days ago. So, go get them when you have the chance.

Is there any chance that an updated version of episode one of Area 88 was released lately, or will be any time soon? I downloaded the second episode and it doesn't have any of the video problems that the first one had (and still has) on my machine.

Funny. It looked fine to me. I'll go ahead and ask the crew anyway.

Oh yeah. AIM SN is Jazzie kun if you want to know. That way, I can relay details quicker.

Well, no one experienced problems. I doubt that there will be a second version soon. For now, give me any new details, if there are any.

Out of many, many gigs of anime and TV shows, I've only had this problem with episode one of Area 88 and most of the stuff from Nyo Coalition, so I'm guessing that it's some obscure setting on my PC that's conflicting with some obscure setting in the encoding of the file. Basically, whenever I load episode one up, the video constantly shakes and jumps, as if it was constantly skipping over a split second of animation. Otherwise, everything is fine with it. Colors are right, the sound is in sync, etc.

A friend of mine has problems like that with some files. They use something like this:

And change the tag from XVID to DIVX....

Personally, I just use ffdshow and don't have any problems.

I just updated my version of Xvid, which was from late December, to the one that was released a few days ago. One of the bugfixes in Koepi's new binary solved my problem.

Thanks for looking, though.
