Remember when each succeeding Final Fantasy game would outsell the previous one? The trend broke only recently.

do you really mean GBC? I..........don't feel like checking the magicbox.
GBA, of course. I'd come up with an excuse, but I'm too lazy. I simply wasn't thinking.

thanks. I assumed so, but I'd not put it past them to come up with one last GBC game.
I hope somebody made up that 'truthia' thing. that's pretty hardcore.

Except for FFX-2 recently, all FF games were different plotwise and with characters... so I don't see how the name gets saturated over time. Gameplay seems to evolve more too. And they even went down a different route with FFXI being more like Everquest than a usual FF game.
I'm not the biggest fan of Square, but I look forward to the new Final Fantasy games more than other series that have been run to the ground repeatedly due to lack of innovation.

I rather enjoy the FF anime, unless you mean the Crystal Chronicles anime, cause that was rediculous. But I have found FF:Unlimited to be pretty good.

Legendia is a continuation of Symphonia. Truthia is related (but unlikely a continuation) of Destiny 1 and 2. Hopefully, the new GBA one will feature more hot cosplay action.

Seems that Namco likes to announce several Tales at a time. If they keep the quality, I won't complain.

See: Final Fantasy remakes (I'm not going to list how many of them came out within the last three years) Final Fantasy X-2 Final Fantasy XI Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Final Fantasy movie Final Fantasy Unlimited
I do wonder if I missed something.

What series are you referring to because I've yet to find FF games to be more than upgrades of previous installments, much like every series that sells insane amounts of copies in Japan. So I guess that's what the Japanese like. Not to mention always coming out with an international version to milk their customers further.
I can't believe you mentioned their Everquest ripoff (I know it's not the same, but it's pretty darn close) and innovation in the same sentence.
Overall, I like Namco's original titles best since Destiny 2 was such a poor effort, especially compared to something utterly brilliant like Venus & Braves.

You meant the name in general... okay got it. I thought you were refering to gameplay. You do have to admit though... if it didn't say "Final Fantasy", it might not sell as well as it would.
I also realize that FFXI is pretty much an Everquest-clone. I was referring more with FFX and Crystal Chronicles. Sorry for not clarifying. And I'm also aware of the international versions of FF games (FFVII, FFX, FFX-2... any others I might have missed). They were never released in the US, so it was something I didn't take account for. Can't fault me for that.
Blah, forget I even replied. I didn't want to get into a debate like this.

Late on the bandwagon as usual... but I agree with Rid. If they keep up the quality I'll be happy to see them. I really do rather like the Tales series. ^_^
