No fancy combos or gameplay. Basically just let those who haven't seen the game before a good look of it.

Same here.
Watching them one question came out though... Can you change your leader during the combats? It seems not, from the videos.
I just thought that in each fight, the one you chose to be the first would be the leader, but it seems to me now that the leader is always the one you selected first in the chara select screen, while the order select has nothing to do about it

So which one is the right one? I think it'd have been (has been, maybe?) a better idea to be able to change the leader for every combat, no?

"Kensu" & "Asina" such a nice couple.

Thanks for the URL. Now, a question. On the page, they have a midboss video. Click here for midboss video. On the video, can someone tell me what theme they are playing in the background musice towards the end of the fight? I swear, they are reusing a theme from an older KOF song but I can't remember what song. Much appreciate if someone could tell what song is being reused.

PS. I'm liking the KOF '03 music.

I think it's one of the tracks from 98, maybe the female team's since that's the last time we saw Chizuru.

Well yeah it was also in '98, but that is actually Chizuru's boss music in '96. In '98 it was used again as the theme for the women's team, and now it looks like it's been remixed for '03.

You choose the leader at the character select screen... err... at least that's what the website says.

Yes, the first character you select is automatically the leader. The order select has nothing to do with who is the leader, and you can't change leader during the matches, which is a shame. Maybe they will fix that in 04.

What would be the point of the leader system if you could switch it in mid-match?

The leader system is pretty pointless in general, as all it gives you is access to an extra move. <sarcasm>Wohoo!</sarcasm>

It'd be not in mid-match, but between matches.
And the reason why? Well, basically the same as the reason why you can choose the order before every match: Just because against some rival/s it'd be better to have someone's LDM available and for other/s, another. No?

On the select order screen you can read that it says "A button -> leader"; so I'm possitive that you can switch leaders from battle to ballte.

Well, not that we are at it I will add that my biggest rant about the game is the futility of keeping a character alive.... What I mean is that if one of your guys gets to 5% of their energy there is no practical use on changing him; it's better to let him drop death to add an extra stock, you could lose the "special tag out" thing but that's not the biggest thing on earth...

The one expetion will be if the machine is set to "leader death -> game over"; the other use will be to avoid the character guard crush; that is unless the whole team "shares" the guard; in that cazy playmore -> lazy as hell.

Yup, that's exactly what I meant. Sorry for the confusion.

I agree with JJWE too. But I think they are just trying out the leader system this year and hopefully will be making more changes and improvements next year.

Well, you have to remember, this is KoF, not a vs game. The reason for tagging is the same reason for specifying the team order in all rpevious games, to tailor matchups. You don't want to lose your fireballer if someone like chang is coming in, and so forth. Granted, if a character is still in with only 5% health, they're doomed anyways, it might be important to keep that person alive, if it comes down to the wire and you have a dm stock lying around. Likewise, you have to consider that some chars can obviously combo better off a tag in, or that new tag attack thing. If it's Kim kaphwhan, it's a close match, you never want to throw him away, no matter how much life he has left.

Not really. Iori gets 2 moves (acfx4+AC extension dm, and the comboable, fast, and overhead LDM), both are really good. And LDMs are good (in general) to everyone..

By the way, on the contrary of what I said earlier, you don't loose the match by losing your leader. This was only at the first day of the beta test, it was changed immediatly.

I don't think so. Now that I've looked at it better, in the chara select screen is clearly stated at the beginning: "Choose the team leader" (you even hear the announcer saying "leeda zelct") and the "Choose the team member (and "memba zelct").
And, as you say, in the order select screen it says "A -> Leader", but the A button belongs to one specific character, precisely the one that has a blue bar instead of a yellow one over him. That's why I guess that text is only a reminder of who's the team leader and nothing else.

You can't change leaders during battle. You can change normally by pressing bc and cd without wasting a stock so if you feel that you want to use your dead-beat character later but don't want to use a stock then do that...but players can still attack while you are in that changing movement. There is no such thing as leader death- match over. 2k3 is a pretty fun game, and Playmore definately isn't lazy on this one..they took a good time making this..redoing character moves, art, animations, voices, music and decent bgs to boot.

Duolon is sooooo GOOD, its not even funny. b,b,qcf+a, f+b, hcb+c, qcf+BC (use ash), b,a, back+b, dm.

I thought that it was an option on the dip switch config... Maybe it's not the default one (like single play on prior KoFs).... Maybe it's not even there. I for one I like that option, it adds that little extra motivation points to wipe out the character... Of course it wouldn't be nice to eat a 100% combo and lost the leader inmediatly ¬_¬.

Man, I need a drink; I havne't drinked in soo long ->8 hours XD
