Edit #1: Fixed Hinako's name. Edit #2: Added Japan team roster, updated some boss info, added some character info.
The following info on KOF2003 is accumulated from a number of sources, including the 2ch BBS and its info collation page located Here.
I wanted to write up a more formal article on this, but I just can't get the time to do so right now... want to update the site...!! Erk, no time. Will do sooner or later. In the meanwhile, BBS members who can help provide or write up more info in making a more complete summary will be appreciated. Just post along a reply.
Game Images Game images are available at the SVC Uploader. go check them out while they're hot. And don't post anything stupid to get the natives there mad.
Game System The game now adopts a Marvel vs Capcom 2 style, 3-on-3 match. It's no longer based on multiple rounds-- it's a single match game where the first person to beat all 3 of the opponent's characters, wins. The beta test is running at a 60 count. Although each count is longer than a second, it's still too short and most of the matches are ending up with time overs.
Noteable Differences from MvC2's tag team system: no assistance attacks, no guard cancel crossover, can't change member in middle of combo, no snapbacks. Team member's life doesn't recover when waiting in the background. When switching characters, it takes about a second for the new character to pop in. The character that pops in is opened to attacks until landing. There is a crossover attack (depletes a power stock), but it can't be used within a combo. However, if the crossover attack hits, the opponent will be opened to attacks for a while.
Super DMs are abolished, and there's a new thing that works in a similar fashion called the "Leader's DM". That is, the leader of the team can do a super DM with two power stocks. The first batter up in the match automatically becomes the leader.
Power meter starts of with 3 bars... Full. The meter's limit increases up to 5 bars each time a member is beaten.
Bosses/Hidden characters Note: Boss info below are taken from third party beta testers, not 100% guaranteed to be accurate!!
KUSANAGI - An illusion of Kyo, created by Chizuru. Fights with three life bars.
Chizuru & Maki - The host of this year's tournament. Chizuru fights with her sister Maki, which is actaully an illusion of her late sister that she created
Zangis- A character that looks like a knight and fights like Zero. May be false info.
Dias- Looks like a Rock Howard. May be false info.
Adel- Full name Adelbeid? Said to be a young looking Rugal who has a genocide cutter, and shoots Reppukens out of his feet. Also has Rugal's Dark Barrier and Gigantec Pressure. Fights with three life bars. Possibly Rugal's son. The battle stage is called Sky Noah, which seems to contrast with Rugal's battleship that was named Black Noah.
Adel's Sister(?)(Rose?)- Fights after transforming into a creature that looks like a Mars People from SvC.
Main Character team Ash Crimson -The first main character in the KOF series that is based on "Holding moves". Raised in France and plays like Guile == some people are calling him Lemy (From SFIII3rd). His picture is Here.
Deuoron -Plays like a mixture of Lin and Ron(KOF2K1 Striker) from the Nexts chapter. Rumors afloat that he actually is Ron.
Shen Woo- Not much is talked about Woo compared to his team mates. Has a Genki-dama style move (Genki-dama = that ball of energy that Goku held in the sky for a few month's episodes worth in DBZ).
Single Entrees Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami
Fatal Fury team Terry Bogard, Joe Higashi, Griffon Mask Terry looks Garou style, but with redrawn sprites. Has a leader DM called Power Stream, where he bursts down from the air and causes a blue explosion on the ground.

quote: Still wondering whether Clark's last name is Steel, Steele, or Still. In the past, I've always seen it romanized as Steel. No trailing "e".
Well, knowing katakana, it's probably Stiiru or something.
Yeah. However, I've been used to Styll because that's the best looking last name from the list of spellings for me.
As for Marin, I'm starting to think twice now. I am now assuming that she's a friend of Athena that we don't know of. I mean, no one knew about Kaoru until 1998 or so.
Oh yeah. I know this is a small error, but I know you meant to spell "Daimon", ne aniki? Hee! ^^
Edit - I added stuff.
Tomo - Kimura-sensei why did you become a teacher? Kimura-sensei - CUZ I LIKE HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS AND STUFF!

quote: Naruto, could you please stop beeing a jerk and asking for more pics that obviously WON'T be taken? You already know that the security is tight, and since the game will be out in less than a mouth, I guess japanese people won't bother taking risk for such an meaningless thing. They usualy don't care for foreigners, and posting in english on the SvC uploader won't do any good to their xenophobia. Do you have a terminal disease that may kill you before January, and you want at least to see the more possible of this game before your death? If no, be a good boy, grow up, wait like everyone else and be quiet.
I was just wondering why is it so risky to take some pics, for a game that will effectivly be out in one month. I mean If the game is close to be finish I don't see why SNKP lose their time with security in a Video game manifestation. I mean it won't Be that important if we saw game pics before the game release, in fact 95% of game developement team try to do so.
