Indeed -- thanks for the heads up, talbaineric! I'll have to pick this one up, now. Even though Udon's SF comic series has been like a godsend compared to the smeg that was the Malibu SF comic, as picky as I am about SF canon, I've found more to complain about than to praise with this new series. And this Newtype USA special is no exception:
Page 2, Panel 2 -- when Dee Jay makes his remark about Capoeira, is he referring to his style or his opponent's? It'd be nice if American writers would finally get it thru their heads that there are no Capoeiristas in the SF series, with the exception of Elena (Dee Jay's style is officially classified as Kick Boxing, and don't get me started on White Wolf's claim (in their "SF The Storytelling Game" RPG) that Blanka practices Capoeira... sheesh). Nice to see (in Panel 1) that the Demitri Maximoff / Mishima Kazuya hairstyle is popular in Jamaica this year. : )
Page 2, Panel 5 -- disappointed to see "Cannon Drill" instead of the technique's original name, "Spiral Arrow." That change had to have been, for me, among the most puzzling of CAPCOM's Japan-to-U.S. alterations. Just never understood why you'd bother to change the name of that attack -- and it's vocal sound effect -- for the non-Japanese market...
Just me being too finicky for my own good. : )
