This is bugging me. I saw a commercial for Napster on TV... they've got an ad campaign going... so... what's that mean??? Is the witch hunt over? Or is Napster a pay service now, and that's how they got around the whole lawsuit thing (the RIAA blood fest, not the whiny Metallica thing)? WHAT'S GOING ON IN THIS TOWN?!?

THAT'S DANNY. His hometown is New Orleans.

Thought so. But does that mean that whoever uses it will be immune to the bloodbath? Or... eh, I don't know anymore.

Okay. Thought so. So, do they still have those horrible filters that make sure can't find anything? I doubt it now, but there's still a possibility. And also, how does the pricing work? I doubt it's cheap anymore....

This is no longer a stupid question. What exactly is the topic around here?

(I thought it was porn, but... well, take a gander at my new thread. When it's up, anyway.)

If you're so innocent then why don't you admit that you're not?

dunno, I'll be damned if I'm going to pay for MP3s. I know I'm in the minority, but I just download them to try an album before I buy it. So...not gonna pay for an album twice. I'm a pretty big consumer of music though.

As for the pricing, it's probably going to be similar to what apple is doing...99 cents/song. Incidentally, of that 99 cents, apple and the musician split 20 cents, and the rest goes to the record label, who just sits on their ass and rakes in the money. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe.

I only buy indy-label music anyway.

Yeah, heh, seriously. Even if they're high quality mp3s, I don't want it. I played with the iTunes store when it was new, downloaded a few songs, but I doubt I'd ever want to use it all the time. If I hear stuff I like, I buy the CD and rip it myself at the bitrate I want, then keep the full quality CD. I just like having the disc and the case and the book, and.,. I don't know. I like having something tangible to relate to something I own. Maybe that's why cartridges feel much more substantial to own as games, because I associate them with BEING a game, whereas my brain associates CDs with data and...

yeah, I have no clue where this is going. Halloween candy woooo~``
