I never knew that such an event was taking place! The 1st world cosplay summit was held in Oosu, Japan on Oct 12. Not much info in the site though.

Interesting -- didn't hear about it on any costuming mailing lists. I wonder what numbers of attendance were -- keep us posted if anyone comes across more information or reports of the event (or if I happen across some, I'll post).

Man, I think this is the first non-scary cosplay I've seen... up to now, all I've seen was pictures from US conventions with scary meat creatures that are supposed to be characters from Inyu Yasha and Trigun and etc.
Wait, I take that back. I've seen some semi-good cosplay of fighting game characters. But it's been a long time since I've seen anything good.

Think Saint Seiya Athena, not King of Fighters Athena.
It's a bit off topic from the World Cosplay Summit, but I gotta mention it -- BEST COSPLAY HAIR EVER. The armor's also threw me back -- I wonder how high the group's budget was...?
(Which reminds me -- this weekend's probably going to be dedicated to finishing up my own costume...!)
