After a two week delay SF#2 is finally coming out. Comicscontinuum has a 5 page preview.

Link Here

Not much. Little bit of a few characters and an apperance by Akuma at the end.

Sweet. But 2.95? Kind of pricy? Isn't it? O_O After all,I need that for gas........*LOL* Joking. :p

I'll be getting it only for the Cammy vs Chun mini-issue. I like Adam Warren's style. And he did such a beautiful job on the cover. Same goes for J.Scott.

Yeap.

Actually there's supposedly going to be one for every issue except #5 (which will have the special Shinkiro-drawn cover).

H o l y c o w. I wouldn't believe unless I saw it. I wonder how people will react to this cover though. Only the hardcore of the hardcore know who is Shinkiro. I'm doubtful that even tournament playing CvS2 players will recognize that the artstyle is the same as the one in their favorite game. Maybe a few, but not many.

But it doesn't matter. Nothing matters. Udon has really done it this time. Much praise to them.

I agree. Chun Li looks beautiful in that picture... I'd like to see Shinkiro do a picture of Ibuki. Anyways, that's a nice cover (though I'm not much of a Guile fan).

Oh... WOW! That is so cool! I am SOOO going to get that cover. Damn, I want that as a poster. To me, that looks very easily like Shinkiro's best ever. It looks like Shinkiro's work, but at the same time, it doesn't.

Man, that is the best rendition of Guile I've ever seen. Look at the detail!

Now that you mention it, Shinkiro does seem to be moving into a different type of art style, or at least he's no longer sticking the same generic heads on all his characters.

Also, I like the inexplicable shining effect on Chun-Li's hair bun.

i think that shine/lens flare is from her spiked bracelet. i hope tht having Shinkiro draw a cover will open up the possibility of other SNK or even CAPCOM artists to contribute because so far i'm not digging the covers that have been shown.

Whoops, thanks for the correction. I somehow missed seeing that spike behind the flare.

That's the first time I've seen the cover. Looks nice.

If what I'm hearing is correct, it already has. Too bad SRK is down at the moment, because Udoneko has been dropping the inside word on the forums for several months now.

I was able to pick up the second issue of SF as well as Megaman.

I picked up the cover by Arnold Tsang, my favorite among the choices. Nice art but not much happening. It seems a bit with Chun/Guile, Ken/Ryu, and Bisons group. I found the art really awkward in the Cammy/Chun Li back story. It was nice art, but the way the action as drawn it put the characters in weird positions where I couldnt tell what exactly was going on.

Megaman is OK. It starts off with a little thing where Megaman has to save a falling plane(He uses Rush to fly this time). The middle is Rocky at school and he has a fight against the bully. They introduce Wily at the end. Mega fights some robots at the end and something happens, too lazy to type spoiler.

Of and New X-Men was awesome.

I used to not like Shinkiro's work because the poses I always saw were so static. But now, he seems to be doing much more active and dynamic poses (yes, even when they're just standing there). I actually like this cover a lot...

I got the SF#2 on Wednesday too. Didn't like the Adam Warren backup, but the rest of it was great.

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
It's amazing how much cooler Vega looks in a trenchcoat. Plus they had a flashback where Akuma appears as he looked in his original SSF2X concept art, with his gi top down and no beads!

End of Spoiler

I'm already looking forward to #3. I hope Udon can keep up the quality.

Shinkiro has done some action in the past. I thought the Fatal Fury 3 cover image with Terry and Franco was particularly nice and dynamic, and some of the SNK calendar images he did were excellent. Aside from that, his work has been steadily improving since '99.

What I'm amazed at, though, is that his work with Capcom has been so good for the past year I sometimes forget that he used to be with SNK. Must be getting some good tips from Capcom's artists.
