Small collection of SS5 (the game formerly known as Zero) vids,
But is it definitely Samurai 5 everywhere or is it just the western name, as someone said here they'd do, absolutely ignoring that it's a prequel only to sell better?

Indeed, I was really curious to see this game since many people here were so interested, but it kind of disappointed me when I saw it was more or less Metal Slug 3D. Sure it's gotta be fun, but it lacks originality.

Now here's one that I like, 1 player mode just rocks, you have to do what the girl demands to collect "her love" and get a better score! XD The only would-be-bad thing about it is that so far I've only seen 2 kinds of demand. The car passing one and the curves one (don't know how to say it better in English)

How do you say "sushi" in Japanese? :D Victoria Beckham (not confirmed)

Thanks for the link!

Yes, I thought it would be when I saw the list of the VA. But if this game manages to be good (the system, I mean), then it's OK for me. I will at last be able to use these characters in a fun game (and again, no love for Kusare Gedô...)

That's was it was supposed to be, no? I'm quite excited with this game, but again, I have this thing with dolphins.
About GGIsuka... This is definitely not the game that will make me reconcile with the GG series. It's even more confuse, the characters are small (what's the point of Potemkin if he doesn't take half of the screen only to be here?), and not even a new character (for the moment) that could make me want to learn the game? I don't understand. I wonder what the AI will be... either it won't use the new mechanics, and it will be only 2 characters with a GGXX# AI, or it will and it will turn every fight in a Ignits-infinites festival. yay.

I guess it's what it was supposed to be, but I just didn't know. All I knew was what I read here, that it was an action game more or less similar to Metal Slug, but I never thought it'd be THAT similar, that's why it disappointed me; not that much, though. I still think it can be a funny game.

Well nice vids sad that once again english version aren't as good as the japanese one... why did playmore remove the english option in their game??? it seems that in the last game SNK translate their game in the same time they developed it...
GG Isuka, is IMO a Stupid waste of time, better turning his game into a brawlfest, Ishiwatari should better do a true GGX3, so far he's doing exactly what make capcom fan bash them. an ridiculous copy and paste. If we bash capcom for that in each new game and SNK at each kof why not sammy???
No new game mode (the 2vs2 was already done..) no new game system (he should think to a change like capcom did between SF zero 3 and the SF 3 serie, or like SNK did each year for KOF.) and no new character so far...
Sad especialy when we saw that they've done amazing background for the game and if the board can support a 4 sprite game, that mean that a + 30 characters cast can be made in a 1vs1 game....
So I don't senp a dime for this one and I same them for GGXZ when the game will be seriously updated..
quote: Outrun 2 is an xbox arcade game. It would probably take them 5 mins to port it to the xbox console.
As far I know, nothing about a Xbox port have been talked about in the Last arcadia interview...and since PS2 is Sega Priority, since outrun is one of the rare car game that japanese player like, I bet for a multi-home port.

quote: The new bits look really nice though, and I LOVE the new announcer. Definetely the best announcer I've heard in any 2D game.
One of the only things I've seen so far in SamSpi0 that disappoints is the change in narrators. With all the sprites, stages, and voices that were lifted directly from earlier installments, I figured I'd at least be able to look forward to Kobayashi Kiyoshi's narration. I probably won't hate this new narration the way I did with the stuff used in SFZ3 and the CVS series, but Kobayashi's narration has always been part of the heart and soul of the SamSpi series, IMO.
quote: They should've put him in SvC instead of that wimpy sounding fellow.
Wimpy?!? I don't think I've ever heard Hiyama Nobuyuki's voice described as wimpy. : p Fygee, you and I have gotta sit down and watch some Yuushaou Gaogaigar. : )
quote: The new songs (from what I can hear anyways) also sound pretty good, so I can put my fears of the tunes turning out to be a KOF '01-like disgrace to rest.
Agreed. The SamSpi CDs have always had some of the best stuff in my game music collection, and it sounds like the SamSpi0 soundtrack won't disappoint, either.

The graphical hit it would have to take for a PS2 version would be like a sledgehammer. Depending how deeply the game delves into the chiciro (sp) board's resources, porting it to the GC would take almost as much effort as creating a new game, at least from a programming standpoint.
Not to mention, despite all their promises, Sega has done very little in the way of multi platforming. Just sports titles and the upcoming Sonic Heroes.
Besides, Outrun is one of the Sega Ages titles so it'll be on PS2 in some form already. And the screens released for it so far look worse than the original. -_-
I'd say it's stupid for Sega to not port Outrun 2 to the xbox, but it's not like they haven't done stupid things in the past.

Well, no doubt about it that Kobayashi's narration definetely did a lot for the series, but I think this new announcer will do more than an adequate job of replacing him for this game. I also really liked the announcer from the two 64 games (I believe it was Harumi Ikoma, only sounding more deep and less peppy than her outings in KOF '96 and '98 as announcer).

Lol, well he did sound a bit wimpy to me, but I posted that right after playing a little Last Blade and SS4, so I guess my perspective was a bit warped at the time. But I'm up for viewing whatever that very hard to pronounce movie is. :D

This makes me wonder if they managed to get a few of the old composers back. Maybe they work at Yuki along with some of the other SS staff that left? Regardless, whoever it is that composes the music for it seems to have a much better grasp on the Neo-Geo sound hardware than the composers for KOF '01, '02 (which surprises me because Tate-Norio worked on it), and SvC have.
