L L! Soooo true...

Just one question : Mike Bison (boxer) turns into a bison, it's normal, but will they change it for the US version where he will be called Balrog?
Not only that, I'd say Balrog's (aka Bison) monster one is a balrog, a la Lord of The Rings, but without fire. Also, don't forget to look at his "end of dancing" pose, it's damn too cool!
BTW, anyone of you who speaks japanese could tell who's who in the animals and the monsters? Some are obvious, but some others are difficult to guess. Thaanks.
EDIT: Ken is Naruto??
EDIT 2 (and last, promessed): Violent/Brainwashed/Orochi Ken is Death itself? Woah!
Mwahahaha! I'm gonna murder someone...
How do you say "sushi" in Japanese? :D Victoria Beckham (not confirmed)

Some things I already posted on Shoryuken:
Bliss: Chun-Li has the same pose as Felicia. Would have been neat if Hugo transformed into Roxy, but whatever. Red Arremer looks like a Teletubby. Cosplayer Kyoko is quite obvious, didn't they just reuse her sprite?
Animals: Kim = doesn't he have an attack named after a swallow? Chun-Li = probably a reference to her strong legs... again ^_^ Mai = biggest insult ever... a COW?!? Genjuro = likes frogs, obvious Sagat = is that a tiger? Would make sense Bison = haha... too bad the joke will be lost in the US version
Monsters: Most of the monsters seem to be variations on Makaimura enemies, or just Japanese mythology in general. Maybe the Occult and Horror How to draw Manga book is useful for once... Kasumi becomes an umbrella ghost (kasobake?) There is a picture of the creature Kyo becomes, but not a name. A horn on the head and a small beak are its features. Ryo looks kind of like the creature Kusaregedo is. Strangely Mr Karate doesn't look like a tengu, he should have wooden shoes and a fan. Ken becomes a nine-tailed fox. Ryu becomes a nua (head of monkey, body of raccoon, legs of tiger and tail of snake), not a chimera. Balrog/Vega becomes Arthur, is that a reference to the fact that he was once supposed to be a knight?
Oh, and Orochi Iori doesn't have mandibles, he's just still breathing ^_^.
I really hope RA and Athena are playable somehow, otherwise we'll NEVER get to see all these in-game.

Tengu aren't ALWAYS depicted with a fan and geta... the real distinguishing characteristic is the red face and the massive proboscis. Well, admittedly, they almost always have the geta, anyway. Also, kitsune = fox.

Yeah, I thought that was wrong. I wasn't familiar with this critter. Too many mythical Japanese monsters to keep track of them all. ^_^

That isn't Arthur, it's one of the ghost knights from Makai Mura. I figure it's because they both are always flying up and down...
Edit: Oh, and that isn't Devil Athena. It's another character, I'm trying to figure out what she's from again...

Why isn't Dan's monster version there?
From what I've heard, and this is apparently more than just fan speculation/joking, the transformation animation begins and Dan pops out as... Dan. I think that one of the developers thought that that would be an absolutely hilarious joke, but it really just sucks, much like his terribly unamusing Midnight Bliss form.
Speaking of that, though... does Dan's dialogue suck, as well? I expected Dan to be pretty amusing in SvC, but so far his transformations have been boring and no one has found him interesting enough to post a video of him. I heard he actually "puts up a fight" this time with some somewhat useful moves, but I haven't heard much more about him.

I hate Dan, I never found him funny, but most of his lines are quite well done, everybody mistake him for Robert (Dan vs Dan is good!) and some other, against Capcom characters, are quite fun (Guile or Chunni, for example). Well, in japanese, that is.

You have a point about Dan's non monster transformation, it's funny but disappointing at the same time (to me at least). But I think it's logic that the developers decided to make fun of Dan as this character was done by Capcom to make fun of them. And specially without 2k1 Yuri around. No?

There's a video of him at snk-capcom, in the videos section. His gadouken's like Bao's psycho ball, only a little dot of energy (at least that's what it seems in the vid)

CPU Dan almost beat the crap out of me the one time I fought him (I almost invariably fight Goenitz so naturally I'm getting quite good at beating him). He's still got the amazingly stupid moves on him, but you gotta watch out, because he can kick your tail with them. He's not SFA-weak at all, it's like fighting Ryo with no range.
And his dialogue isn't anything special. Everyone on the SNK team thinks he's Robert.
I found Kagami's sword in a junk yard. I will rule the world and find that truly good cup of coffee. "Dink-a-dink-a-dink-a-do."

gameplaywise, Dan's just tricky. the move i've seen that got my friend a lot was when he starts blocking out of nowhere, then releases a "Danshokohken." if you see him blocking and you know you're not attacking him, wait for the blast of nrg to come out, then rush and punish him. actually, don't do that. just observe him. i don't remember how quickly he recovers from that move. another move i saw him [Dan] land a lot was this ... hm i dunno how to explain it. been a while since i've played the game. he does something stupid that makes him look vulnerable, then he releases a punch and smacks you hard. i forgot what i was talking about. two in the morning. goodnight
EDIT: oh wait, i briefly remember. i found Dan to play very, er, goofy compared to the other minibosses. Goenitz, Geese, Demitri ... they all just went apeshit. the cpu knew how to manage them somewhat well. the cpu was fierce with them. but when Dan appears, he just does the same predictable moves over and over. after fighting him time and time and time again, you'll get used to his tricks. they remind me a lot of Galactica Phantom. i fell for it the first few times but NEVER AGAIN
