I was just looking through some old papers and noticed a couple of product registration cards that had fallen out of some of my game manuals. When I was a kid, I filled these out religiously and occasionally received fun little trinkets like a Megaman and Rush sticker that celebrated the release of Megaman 3. I stopped sending these in about ten years or so ago, but I remembered that after my Mom recently signed up for some sort of Sony fanclub, we started getting game demos on a somewhat regular basis.

Does anyone, at least in the US, fill out these product registration cards? Have you gotten anything good out of it? Have you noticed a lot more advertisements from gaming magazines and stores since you filled them out?

When I got my PS2, I filled out the Sony funtime club card (or whatever it was called) and now they send me demos for games 5 months after I've bought them. Otherwise I don't bother since I never saw any results when I did do it back in the day.

The last one I think I did was the Sony one as well, and got those Sony Underground discs for awhile. I just didn't want anymore junk mail or spam. And it always makes me uneasy when a few want your daytime telephone #.

I do send away for those one free issue deals. I signed up for the Official Xbox mag one, and actually got 3 issues free.
