On the spine of my copy of GGX it says ギルテイギア ゼクス, or Giruti gia zekusu. I thought the Japanese pronounced Z "zed" like the Brits do though...
The XX in GGXX is iguzekusu. Weird romanization...

From what I understood is that there are two ways of saying "X" in Japanese..."Ekusu" and "Zekusu", no idea why...but it is interesting to see the many variations of how that letter is used...the letter "Z" as well. We get things like XX translated as jumbled version of saying the letter twice "Iguzuekusu" or EXE is "Eguze".
It's really stupid though that the announcer for the Anime short pronounces X as Zekusu. The guy is obviously knows English as a first language and sounds like some dumb ass Otaku. "It's not 'Dragon Ball' it's 'Dooragon Booru'"...ugh.
