| "This is Geki`s brother in Japan" , posted Tue 12 Aug 23:55:
Hey D-Man (my bro), I hope you dont get upset at me for posting w/o your permission but I have been resting today so let me share a portion of my trip of Japan with the guys here since they know about it (I think).
Anyway, I have been having lots of fun. Ive been learning new things today such as when you visit a familys grave, you give them your business card as proof that you visited. I think the O-Bon is Friday so Ill be there for that.
One of the first things I did was see Battle Royale 2. It was a very good movie. Takeuchi Riki is so bad ass with his presence in the movie. But Beat Takeuchi scared me way more. The spoiler button isnt working on the computer Im typing on right now so I wont post much about the movie thats at all significant. Anyway, its a lot different from the first movie in most aspects. Such as the class has to work together to get the Wild Seven. In this movie, they blame societys problems on terrorism rather than delinquents this time. I couldnt understand it fully (around 70%), but it was all right. They were selling merchanise such as Shuyas switchblade, shirts, and bomb collars. The popcorn and drinks costed as my brother would say, an arm and a testicle. Large popcorn containers are as large as large soft drinks. The shirts were also expensive. I ended up buying my brother a BRII bag. I was shocked to learn this movie was R-15, then again this is Japan were standards are less strict. I told my host brother that this movie would be like NC-17 and the other people (there only like 10 people there) over hearing us were shocked and they kept on asking me questions like about Battle Royale in America and what are American movies like. And in the theatre, these two gothic/punk like looking girls were doing there homework and kept on asking me to help them with their English. I did all I could to talk with others until the movie started. Previews were Slam Dunk and Sky High.
Ramen in Japan is very good. The 10 cent stuff you buy at the super market doesnt compare to this ramen you really get. It really tastes good and it makes you full as if you eated 5 horses. I have also ate some tonkatsu curry which is some of the greatest I have ever had, and other great Japanese food.
Naruto should be on tonight but it stinks that the house I stay in doesnt have the channel that airs it. But I did watch Inuyasha Moday and it was really good. I really love the shichinin-tai story arc.
I have mostly bought Naruto stuff for my friends and family, just bought myself a Naruto headband (the only one left), all of Video Girl Ai manga (counting the Video Girl Ren story), Inuyasha manga, a headband for my youngest brother, a sake/tea set for my father, and some wallets for my mom.
